I say everyone keep your Evo prices between 18 and 30k. Don't go below just because you're having trouble selling. If everyone kept the asking price for their car up there then we'd have a chance at saving the value of the Evos. But everyone wants a quick sell so they bail out of it at what they owe and it's killing the resale value. I mean I know that just about any car short of a supra or skyline will lose value over time but when I think about how I bought my near stock Evo8 only two years ago for 19.7k, which at the time was a very good deal, and then today I see Evo8s in the same condition going for around 15-16k..

just teasting you guys. :P
it has a salvaged title. i'm not THAT lucky of a guy. i had to replace the body panel, in the trunk, where the latch attaches along with some paint and a rear bumper cover replacement.
after buying the car and doing repairs i'm $13.5k into it. i THINK i've seen salvaged, low-mileage MRs going in the $14-15k range.. so i'm in the ballpark.

i <3 this car. had a guy offer to trade for his 800hp VR-4. i declined.

4k depreciation over 2 years is very very fair.

Many cars will decline until they level off. Some eventually even start climbing. Its all supply and demand. I used to be into RX7's, ten years ago a good FD would run you about 14-17k, its about the same today. Just the other day I was telling someone who expressed interest in buying an Evo that he could expect to find a nice low milage MR for 20-24k. Ultimately, a particular car is worth whatever someone will pay for it, and not a dollar more. But if we cut off the extremes on both ends, i am guessing my estimate is pretty accurate.
