Hello everyone. New member here and have a question that fits along the lines of this thread.
I'm in the market to purchase a newer car, and living in the Midwest for the past few decades has taught me one repeated lesson. That I can't count on rwd per a daily basis (winter!). So I've decided for the first time to go awd. I've been leaning heavily toward evolutions. I've driven a few and have been browsing the classifieds (cars.com, evom, autotrader etc etc) for quite some time now. I've marked some good deals around market price, but one specifically caught my attention because of what could potentially be had for a relatively low cost.
That being said, I've recently spoken with and seen the owner of a 2006 Graphite Gray evolution. It was originally from Georgia, has not cosmetic flaws, has the ssl package, no modifications and just a tick under 37,000 miles. It has a REBUILT title from supposed front end damage. The front bumper is an oem replica, but the headlights, hood, and front fenders are all oem mitsu. While viewing the car, nothing seemed out of place, no mis-algined items, nothing out of the ordinary. It seems to be 'perfect.'
This was just my personal opinion, and I plan on having the car inspected at a mitsu dealership within the next week or so, to get a professional opinion on the state of the car.
My question is whether the price reflects the condition of the car and does it seem like a worth while purchase if you were in a similar situation.
He's supposedly firm at 16,500 after fee's. I'll see what I can negotiate after the dealership views it, but he didn't seem to keen on budging on the price. I've attached a link to the autotrader add that has pictures included.
I appreciate any opinions.
Thanks.

I would say great car reasonably priced. But.....
Front damage should described a bit wider... How many miles did car make after the incident? Airbags deployed? Any signs on the manifold turbo to be affected? Pics to justify that driven wasn't touched.
Now, who did the job?
Make sure you realize that to sell it would be a litle harder than the car with a clear title, but the price would be less then.
Also, the insureance won't have problem to fully cover anything after something wrong happen. (oh no!)
I am not big fan of the leather, but I believe it is a widely appreciated piece worth to have if going for GSR model.
My $0.02.
holy ****! i've seen salvaged MRs go for that price. did you know the person that sold it to you? that is the deal of the century, right there.
I've always been curious what my car is worth since I bought it, here's a link with some pics and my mod list http://asaperformanceparts.com/luissevoix.html the only changes are now I have a Tripple Disk and I just refreshed my tranny. The car has 44K miles and its really in excellent condition, no scratches at all. What do you guys think??
