Modification Regrets?

Agreed, if you didn't like a mod, then explain why you'd rather have not done it or why you regret having it. That's the point of the thread - to help newbies make the correct decisions. This is the research.
I tried searching on this thread too for feedback on a Quaife LSD and found nothing to regret - anybody with experience on that? Regrets could also be that you like it and it works great, but it didn't really do much for lap times or time attack speeds
currently my evo is getting fully redone, i use to have the ACT clutch and now am going with a buschur block, shep trans along with STM 6262 turbo kit, and my guy first thing he said was exedy twin disc clutch. so im assuming thats the best and most reliable/durable
Taking my car to Meek Automotive!!! They hack the mods on your car that they don`t do at there shop, they can`t diagnose problems very well which costs the customers $$$,arrogent as F*%k!!!! All this from a shop that specializes and only works on mitsubishi`s!!! Next shop diagnosed and FIXED the problem first time without even going in the car!!!
Doing hellis with ayc & 480 awhp!!! = blown transfercase!!!

Just so you know Emery mentioned to me the twin is good to 450whp but over that he likes to see exedy triples or the like. Buy once cry once......
^ Agreed!
Regret purchasing my injen U/LICP set... Was a real impulse buy when i first bought my evo. Wish I would have went with other options first rather than having to waste the money shipping etc.

Yeah i agree on the clutch plate. My exedy twin HD is retarded and I'm on my second rebuild using it. At first it seems nice and smooth / soft. But unless your TQ is way up there i should have purchased the exedy SD twin cerametallic. NO NEED FOR AN HD AS A DAILY DRIVER IMO.
Allow me to just say that I feel genuinely bad for you. Sucks man. Hope you have better luck in the future. Are you trusting another shop or doing future work yourself?
I regret trusting a shop to handle the build for my car since I didn't have the time, tools or technical knowledge to do it myself, which apparently they didn't either.
List of issues from the top:
1) Timing way off on the motor (Scott thankfully caught it before the more ate itself).
2) Wrong bolts used on crank pully and Fluidampr FELL OFF on the road. THankfully I was at a stoplight
3) Built Transfercase started deathwhine. Blamed on more power, more then likely improper fill
4) Head lifted......possibly due to not torquing down to spec (or not over torqued).
5) Triple Carbon clutch ate itself due improper assembly or improper install (Carbonetics words not mine)
6) New Quartermaster flywheel ate the starter while warping 200 miles into new install
7) Bell housing cracked from motor grenading originally and missed by said original shop so transmission was coming off block
8) Just found out from Shep that the following needs to be replaced: New Bell Housing, 1st gear, 2nd gear, 1st gearset, 1-2 hub and 3-4 hub, all syncros and sliders and input shaft. Basically an entire rebuild (Its a previously built Shep trans).
Thats all of the top of my head. I'm pretty much at the end of my rope with this car because of all the crap thats happened beyond my control.
All total because of one shops incompetence I have spent an extra 10k and I haven't driven the car for more then a few weeks with no issues. Hopefully this is it but if something major happens again there will be a fire sale and I will either rebuild and sell, throw a stock motor and setup in there and sell or part it completely out and wait until I can afford to buy a GTR.

Not really a regret, as I wouldn't change it back if I could, but now that my Swift Spec R's have settled, the car does feel quite a bit rougher over bad roads (the norm in Chicago). They still feel awesome in corners but yeah, if you live somewhere with bad roads, be ready for a compromise.
lmao i've done that
