Modification Regrets?
I'll never regret doing my engine swap! https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...gine-swap.html
Taking my car to Meek Automotive!!! They hack the mods on your car that they don`t do at there shop, they can`t diagnose problems very well which costs the customers $$$,arrogent as F*%k!!!! All this from a shop that specializes and only works on mitsubishi`s!!! Next shop diagnosed and FIXED the problem first time without even going in the car!!!
Doing hellis with ayc & 480 awhp!!! = blown transfercase!!!

Yes. So i started out with an Evo X then sold it for a 9, but, being a noob at the time, i bought a "EBAY" towhook. Looked good, completely functional with fabrication. As soon as i loosened and tighted the hex scews on the sides the nice finish on the towhook peeled and started to rust, i hated it after that.

No regrets with the mods so far except for swapping the injen piping for ets one day. Injen piping fits weird and I'm a big fan of ets.
My 1 regret is buying the bfgoodich kdw 2's. just because the tread pattern looks appealing doesn't mean they stick to the road very well. However! 4 wheel slides are much easier. Just picked up some ventis v12s and couldn't be happier.
The exedy stage 1 clutch might have been a quick decision. The high rpm lock out is annoying but 50k miles and 60+ launches doesn't cause me to regret it. I might try for a twin in the very near future.
Always do the research and don't settle for cheap.
Also, tanabe makes an amazing exhaust. This is the second car that I've ran the concept g with. Fitment is perfect and the sound is fantastic.

Mod regrets
Buying a supposedly new MAP ported intake manifold from a member on this forum. Had it installed and it made a clicking sound. Probably not ported correctly and probably not a MAP product. Installed my stock manifold, problem solved. No refund, $700 down the drain.
my biggest regret on my evo is the clutch also. i was planning on making 500whp really quickly and i talked to MAP and was talked into buying a competition clutch six puck clutch and lightweight flywheel.
after 400 miles of having the clutch in it started squeaking at idle, i replaced the throw out bearing and it didnt fix anything, i then went back in there and replaced it again and greased the input shaft this time and it stopped for a couple thousand miles.. and now its doing it again and if i hit the clutch a few times it eventually will stop for a few minutes before squeaking again.
this other evo owner in the area has an act six and his does the same thing but louder lol
kind of just want to save for a damn exedy twin disc

My biggest modding mistake was with my last car.
Had a g37 with full bolt ons,headers,HFCs,catback exhaust,stage 3 twin intakes,uprev custom tune.
So far so good, in my quest for power I went overboard.
Had a nitrous express 100 shot installed. At first all was well. Was making 420whp/390wtq, on nitrous.
Then taking it up a level, I had a nitrogen assisted nitrous oxide installed. Uses compressed c02 to push the nitrous at a consistent rate, while maintaining full horsepower for entire run. One day the boss was out, had to have my tanks filled. Well one of the mechanics reversed a high pressure line between the nx tank of nitrous & the nano tank of compressed air. Needless to say my motor took a dirt nap. Was so pissed, my mechanic replaced the entire long block assembly. 3 months & tons of $ I had the car pit back together to sell. Traded that car in. What a disaster, never again.

From what I can gather the mini batteries dont hold a good charge & end up dying/weak start...I ended up using a Die hard battery for a Honda due to the slimer profile & high CCA rating. Left my car for a few weeks without starting it & it cranked right up even while it was 25-30 degrees outside.
K&N intake, the maf housing was to small for my red and I ended up buying an AMS. Perrin down pipe, awsome downpipe but I ended up getting an AMS downpipe and had to sell it and buy a testpipe also.
I regret Eagle H beam rods on my fully built Crx, should have went with I beam. I should have known I was gonna push over 600whp eventually. And with my evo I regret buying everything that I broke in the little accident I put myself in. Although the $5000 check was nice
