Modification Regrets?
That sucks. Which shop did u go to, and did the shop refund or pick up the costs in fix-up??
I regret trusting a shop to handle the build for my car since I didn't have the time, tools or technical knowledge to do it myself, which apparently they didn't either.
List of issues from the top:
1) Timing way off on the motor (Scott thankfully caught it before the more ate itself).
2) Wrong bolts used on crank pully and Fluidampr FELL OFF on the road. THankfully I was at a stoplight
3) Built Transfercase started deathwhine. Blamed on more power, more then likely improper fill
4) Head lifted......possibly due to not torquing down to spec (or not over torqued).
5) Triple Carbon clutch ate itself due improper assembly or improper install (Carbonetics words not mine)
6) New Quartermaster flywheel ate the starter while warping 200 miles into new install
7) Bell housing cracked from motor grenading originally and missed by said original shop so transmission was coming off block
8) Just found out from Shep that the following needs to be replaced: New Bell Housing, 1st gear, 2nd gear, 1st gearset, 1-2 hub and 3-4 hub, all syncros and sliders and input shaft. Basically an entire rebuild (Its a previously built Shep trans).
Thats all of the top of my head. I'm pretty much at the end of my rope with this car because of all the crap thats happened beyond my control.
All total because of one shops incompetence I have spent an extra 10k and I haven't driven the car for more then a few weeks with no issues. Hopefully this is it but if something major happens again there will be a fire sale and I will either rebuild and sell, throw a stock motor and setup in there and sell or part it completely out and wait until I can afford to buy a GTR.

Well, i am agreed with you on that - for the IX, cams really don't do much becoz the stock cams are very good already. Luckily, my car doesn't suffer any of the rough ilding problems from aftermarket cams though
As for a tub manifold, I just put on the Mona Lisa (JessieB) and it made significant gain compared to my PPI ported/coated stock!! This was a real back-to-back experience becoz the mani was the only change, and I can feel the power all the time

act clutch....getting lockout after redline wth is 2nd and 4th gear? Speed density conversion...I dd my car and will stall from time to time with the ac on. Hks 272's should've gone bigger right away, barely any difference in power from stock cams.
definately regret my forge motorsports piston type wga. i have had tension problems with the bracket sliding and losing tension even with the bolts tightened till the point where it feels like im about to strip the holes in the compressor housing. had an o ring break in half wedge itself between the piston and chamber and boost wouldnt go below 29 psi. after fixing that boost wouldnt go past 15psi no matter how much preload i put on it. i then bought a spring set and installed the 25# spring. with 3 full turns of preload from the 0 point i was only at 15psi... not 25 or anywhere close. with 6 full turns i got it to 19 and just used the ebc from there.
next time ill be going with a fp wga

No regrets so far but I've just got my clutch done (ACT HD 6puck) and now it feels like I gotta let the clutch pedal up really slow at shifting otherwise I get this noticeable "boom"sound from my differential. My plan was to track my car once I put 500- 750 miles on this clutch. I gonna be afraid to do so.
