Modification Regrets?
I have been thinking about this alot lately...
Almost every mod Ive done on my car, it's gone wrong in one way or another.
Biggest one was EVC 6. I know its an awesome controller, but when you splice the wrong ECU wires and the car won't start, you really hate yourself for doing self installs. I don't regret installing the ECU, I regret cheeping out on installation costs by doing it myself. I am usually very electrically minded and it is what I do for work, but when you read diagrams wrong and no-one to look over your shouder, that's when you regret it...
...Car still won't start

only issues i have had with the act is it groans and makes some kind of metal to metal sound when letting it out in first other than that its good to go. former owner claims its a stage 3 6 puck. who knows dood lied about a lot of ****.
95% gutted interior, roll bar, seats and harnesses. Safety is important but the car's all but unusable for anything but the track now. All other performance mods I've kept pretty basic and conservative and don't regret any one them one bit. Barely driving a car that I have a crap ton of time and money into kind of kills me, though.
dont think I regret anything...yet
Although there are a couple of vendors I regret dealing with...luckily none of them are around anymore and I actually got some, not all of my money back...but those days are in the past

I regret buying an FP red, stock frame manifold, AMS FMIC and the MAP O2 housing.
They all work great, but, the car is going to Buschur for a big turbo setup, motor, head etc.
I should have just stuck it out with the stocker(the manifold and O2 were already aftermarket when I bought it). I only actually used my car with all that stuff for 8-9 months.
I should have just been honest with myself in the beginning, lol.

My biggest regret was buying my AMS FMIC & piping. The FMIC is great and all. But only 2 of the 3 mounting wholes were lined up perfectly. The center top one I had to drill out a little bit to get the stud threw to fit.
BUT the thing that drives me crazy 4 years later is the UICP. the fit ment sucks. The UICP has a mounting point on it, but I can't mount it the right way bc I can't find an intake that works with it. Any intake I try is in the way. And what really kills me is AMS never specified that their UICP only works with X intake. I was on the phone with them a few times to help me. But of course they never got back to me with an answer. And because it's not mounted correctly the UICP has rubbed through twice already and I had the wholes welded. Right now my MAF is rubbing and not only making the loudest and most annoying squeaking I've ever heard. I already see it rubbing through again. This is the biggest reason I'm going SD so i can finally mount it the right way and elimate the intake.
After all I wish I just bought an ETS kit. And I could of had the whole thing flat black like I wanted in the first place and I would of saved like $400...after buying this kit and the aggravation I've had. You can say I have a lot of animosity towards AMS. Only because after they got my money they made me feel like I didn't matter anymore.
I really hope this thread helps some people trying to decide which parts to go with

Buying a 2nd Greddy RS BOV after the first one broke. THESE leak bad when you start to run higher PSI and no matter how good a tune you get/spring you put in, drivability sucks with them. They sound cool though.
Circuit hero shift extender! Cool at first but now I can't get it off my stock shift knob because it came with thread locker already applied and the long throw is unpleasant. Binary delrin shift knob is on the way.
The irony is, the addition of a part whose function is essentially cosmetic was responsible for multiple points of damage and malfunction. I'm sure there's a lesson here, somewhere.
