Modification Regrets?
My only regrets are...
1. Waiting so long to start modifying my Evo 8....although it helps at 43 years old to have the income to put in good parts and do it right.
2. Trusting a Mitsu dealership to change my timing belt. Should have just researched and done it myself. They had the balancer off and vibrated the crap out of my engine.

Trying a 100 cell "performance" cat to try and clean things up a bit.....it didn't. Still smelled like @ss....Kids would choke on fumes at streetlights. Penguins died in Alaska or wherever they hang these days.
Then trying a 200 cell cat..... same result, just now I felt more dumb. Made a mistake TWICE and the catalytic converters sit on a shelf...
Finally spent the coin for a GESI G-Sport CAT and all the smells went away and power loss was negligible. It is rated at 850hp and EPA certified as well, which is probably why it actually cleans.

the same reliability.
Depends how much time you sit in traffic, which way the wind is blowing, and whether your interior vents are set to suck outside air. There was no exhaust leak, it was coming from the tailpipe and ending up in the cabin. I have a baby car seat in the back, she is now 3 years old but I didn't want an infant breathing at s***. Tell me you haven't been behind someone before with no cats and choked on those fumes?! Oh and if you run E85 it is almost impossible to detect.. so maybe that is why you never noticed ?
You can smell it more on the 10’s because they have an outlet on the drivers side as well. On e85 you can barely tell.
I’ve run catless as long as I have owned evos, 16+ years, I now have the same GESI cat on my Evo 10 and can’t smell anything now.

Exactly. Thanks for backing me up. So someone going through these regrets may believe us that the 100 cell or 200 cell "performance" cats actually do NOTHING (as far as my nose can tell) which is why they are not EPA certified.
The GESI G-Sport is the only cat in my research and experience that is performance oriented and actually works. I found them by searching how the turbo LAMBO kits are built, and from there found out how good they were.

My biggest regret is the WhiteLine front swaybar + wavetrac installed at the same time. I didnt have the courage to remove them so I have been fighting them autoxing for several years, several tires and springs combos ago. My wavetrac is not apparent/aggresive anymore, and I finally did the DIY swaybar swap back to stock and adding an even 'softer setting' hole
2nd biggest regret was polishing (polishing compound) my own car. I just put burn marks/paint damage and also ended up scuffing up all the rubber on the roof and glass.
I have been going with cheaper options when it comes to parts and upgrades (not on tuner services) and so far theyre all fine (except for that fake ngk sparkplugs. fine for autox but melted/cracked on track)

After 2 back to back failures w/the PC680 I gave up on them. Been running the CSB HRL1280W (less expensive & has performed even better)

Yep, pretty sure it was shipping damage. Both the PC680's were shipped in a form fitting cardboard box w/no padding. In any event the Hitachi battery has been a good alternative
If anyone is looking for other battery options, I bought my Stinger about 5yrs ago and it's still working. It's on the tender 11mos out of the year, not sure if that's why. I can get a model number, if anyone is wanting to check it out.
I'm pretty sure it's this one:

that looks rebranded PC680, for the boom box (capacitor) crowd
