Modification Regrets?
My car has been great for the past three years.. but even I'm ready to make a couple changes. Will I regret it? Possibly, so keeping all current parts on a shelf. You know, just in case
That's normal, I think. We all try what everyone else does because ...it's what everyone else is doing. Then we evaluate.. decide what we like/don't like, then develop the car on our own. Even then, plans change so then also do the parts

I spent SO much money on this car to not have a built longblock until literally right now. I know I'll still make changes, but it's just having a clear plan that was my issue. The only clear thought I had was that I didn't want to build something that wasn't fun on the street (like a super big turbo 2.0 that a lot of people do and end up regretting). My next car I'll be doing it right - I've already made my plan, I'll be gathering all the parts and doing it all at once.
My biggest regret isn't necessary any mods but actually getting rid of my stock parts. It was a pain looking for stock parts like the CAT or downpipe. Living in California with a modified car is tough....

I really want a FF turbo kit since it will look cool, but I am not at the point that 550 seems like that happy point of fun and usefulness.

Like...actually wearing them? Sounds uncomfortable.
I went the other direction: brand new, OEM shortblock. Good for another 100k+ miles.
True lol. I would jump on parts as soon as someone was selling them just to have them (like hard I/C pipes that I changed twice, BOVs, the same TurboXS RFL Ti that I bought used 14.5 years ago, etc.). I mean ****, I had a Dynoflash mail-in tune

You mean to tell me you never tried wearing an intake on your... you know what, disregard that.
Nothing wrong with that. I still have my stock shortblock which is good (besides the pistons). Not sure what I'm gonna do with it yet. I haven't even hit 120k yet and my Evo is (well, was anyways until the timing belt went) my daily. Even if I only get 50k out of the built 4G64 that's gonna be around seven years or so. I'm cool with that. Got me a new DD anyways and will be adding a C7Z to my garage as well.

biggest regret was buying heavier wheels for my 05 GTI, that thing was "The Red Bullet" then i got heavier rims and it was slow as crap....couldnt get my other ones back either so i was pretty upset about that. other than that, my biggest regret is buying an already modded 1g eclipse from sketchy people down in Denver, Co. never again....

Trying a 100 cell "performance" cat to try and clean things up a bit.....it didn't. Still smelled like @ss....Kids would choke on fumes at streetlights. Penguins died in Alaska or wherever they hang these days.
Then trying a 200 cell cat..... same result, just now I felt more dumb. Made a mistake TWICE and the catalytic converters sit on a shelf...
Finally spent the coin for a GESI G-Sport CAT and all the smells went away and power loss was negligible. It is rated at 850hp and EPA certified as well, which is probably why it actually cleans.
