Remote Start Help

I feel like there must be a thread on here for this, but I couldn't find it if you could point me in the direction of another thread that would be great.

Basically I am in the market for a remote start. Not looking for an alarm or anything, just I guess a good quality unit that people like. Just looking for some people out there that have one on their Evo and their opinions on it. Thanks guys!

Not sure how far your looking to drive for one. But at the car audio shop i work at we put one in my car. It's a viper 5901 model comes with alarm built in remote start and turbo timer. The viper systems are great and have range up to a mile radius. Also if you have an iphone or droid theres an accessory app you can buy where you can start your car from your phone so you can virtually start it from anywhere in the world if you have service. I love the product and havent had any problems with it at all. If your interested give the shop a call. Btw anything bought and installed in the shop has lifetime warrently except the key fab because thats a wear and tear item

If anyone is interested, I finally had a remote start along with an alarm installed in my car. I went with the Compustar RF-2W900 which is a two way system. Auto Audio, which is a great local shop, would actually only install a Compustar system on a manual transmission. There is absolutely no way that the car could be left in gear and have the remote start be active. This means sometimes the car will not start up remotely if you go into the car between the time you shut it off and the next time you want to start your car, or if you didn't shut the car off properly. Sometimes it makes it a pain in the ***, but at least my car will never accidentally be started when left in gear, and end up having an accident.

Directed Avital/Hornet Remote

I have a Avital/Hornet 2-Way LCD remote starter. I had the remote for about 3-4 years never had any electrical issues with it nor any problems starting the car on cold and warm days. Battery life is very good for LCD display.
The remote is a 2-way LCD, which features a turbo timer, climate control start-up and variety of other security features that you might like. The only incident that I came across was when my remote died on me at work, I forgot the technique to enter into valet mode to allow starter to work.

Directed is the company to look at the produce Avital and Hornet. Make sure you care 1 or 2 extra batteries in compartment incase remote dies.

question: all of the remote start kits that I have seen are only intended for automatics. Are there any made specifically for manual or is it an easy bypass for the kits intended for automatic?

thanks for the help

compustars like the op got have a manual transmission mode. you can also do the sweet new drone mobile add on so you can stat your car from your android phone anywhere you have cell coverage.

I have the Autostart AS-2472TWU(US), it was already on the car when I got and I love it. It has a built in turbo timer, cold weather modes, and a ton of various programmable options.
