Curt941 - i have that same rattle you described in my IX GSR. Could you let me know how it goes after you fix it? Thats the only noise that i have besides the normal brake squeal. Other than that, no complaints. thanks

Now that it is cold everything is squeaking and rattling in my car. The breaks, dash, everything. I am going insane every time I get in my car.

when its wet out/ moisture in the air, i have a little squeek noise going over bumps. I coudlnt figure it out so i got out of the car and started pushing down on the fenders, i got the sound. I think its just the rubber seals or something that make a noise when they move because of the moisture... Oh well...

Solution for all = Turn up the radio!!!

If it's a styrofoam cooler type squeak coming from the lower dash area and you are going crazy, try what I just did. I went to the car wash and sprayed the rack and pinion area along the firewall (lightly). The noise went away until the car dried.

I had washed it in the past and the squeak was noticable before I tried wetting the R&P.

The next time it's in the air I'm going to try spraying the bushings with silicone and see if the damned squeaks go away.

I have an 06 MR and have had quite a few interior trim pieces off, one at a time, trying to find this particular squeak. It's not inside. Turning the radio up seems to make it less noticable. Go figure.

I can attest to the interior settling in and the squeaks going away as time goes on. I was horrified at the squeaks and rattles that started appearing as early as 800 miles on my car, enough so I took it to the dealership a couple times and got a few things fixed. I'm at 11,000 miles now and the interior is the quietest it's been since

Also has a TSB for the door handle linkage on the inside of the door, they put in felt lining behind it to stop it from bumping the metal shell of the door. At least they addressed all my issues, the dealer has been great.

Do you have the TSB number for the weather moldings? I have the same noise, but the dealer is saying that there is no TSB.

Please help

Any chance of still getting this? PLEASE !?!?!?! :]

It sounds like a loose wiring harness dangling against a plastic surface, enough to make a constant but faint rattling noise.

But at hghway speeds, the rattling noice is drowned from the road noises.

Either that, or turn up the hifi volume.

Or rev the engine ;-)

It is a minor annoyance...and I agree with some posters that this is part of the *allure* of owning an Evo....
I have the same glove box rattle (and no it's not anything inside of it) which started after my stereo/alarm install. Seems like if you get your dash pulled/etc. you're going to end up with a few. Just have to turn the music up now
