Need your knowledge, help me out. (MAP sensor)

My car has been stalling when the RPM drop below 1500 and won't idle in N or any gears with the clutch so I decided to clean the Idle Sensor, Maf and whatever sensor I can find. The problem has stopped. However I found this sensor (I think it's the MAP sensor ) and there's 3 wires that's been cut and not connected to anything. Is this normal? Any help would be appreciated
Also, when I take it to a local shop, the mechanic says the pictured sensor went bad and is the culprit to my stalling problem. What do you think? Just want a second opinion before I spend $200 to get that fixed.

Wow you have a lot of rust in there!!!

Yeah that looks like your MAP sensor. Not sure why it has cut wires?!?!? There should only be 3 wires to that sensor... I 99.99999%believe.

Yes it's your MAP sensor, no the wires shouldn't be cut, and yes it could be the cause of your idle problems. While you're at it, may as well upgrade to a 3+ bar sensor

That is the map sensor but there are only supposed to be three wires going to it, yellow, gray & black. It looks like these wires are connected ok. What the cut wires (black, green & red) are for I don't know. I'm guessing that a previous owner had a different type of map sensor installed and those wires went to that, maybe?

I taped up those wires, clean out all the sensors and the IAC. The problem is fixed.

Did you check if those wires were spliced into the 3 wires for the map or if those 3 wires were running somewhere else?

Do a search on the IAC, you may want to replace or update it with a newer version as the 03 will eventually fail completely. Mitsu redesigned the IAC for the 2005+
