Weird idoling problem
I have a 2003 evo 8 and when i shift to neutral some times the car will either drop in rpm and almost die or it will die in some cases im wondering if this is a tuning problem or if its something else that i need to fix.

do you have a aftermarket intake on the car? If so thats most likly the culprit. You should include more info about your car and also check the forums for others with the same problems, lots of posts have been anwsered about this exact question

Swap out the stock intake if you have it. I had the same prob with my injen intake and when i swapped to stock the prob went away. If you have a good tuner in your area, they can smooth it out.
Also, if you have the stock evo 8 plastic bov, i would suggest upgrading to a evo 9 or evo 10 stock bov.

Same problem with mine..it happens when your running an aftermarket bov and venting it to Atmosphere..needs to recirculate (air from the bov must re enter the intake) if your running stock DV then maybe its leaking..also an intake wouldnt cause this..just the bov or boost leaks. Evos are meant to recirculate just like Vdubs and Audi..unless you get a tune to VTA..which is a waste of time because you will burn alot more fuel
