Just got, buying, reviewing, thinking about a new Evo [Ultra Hyper Mega MERGE]
I need some serious feedback, Need to know if I'm getting screwed
Hi guys finally, tomorrow I'm going to be picking up my 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII with a sunroof and I want to know before I sign my life away if I was able to get the best deal. They gave me the car at MSRP 30,812 tax tags and other BS fees came to $33915 out the door. Then I'm financing the car with $5000 down over 72 months and the payments came to a total of $461.00. I wanted to get them down to $450.00 but they are not budging and they will let me walk. Let me hear some really good feedback and comments before I do this tomorrow morning.
Thank you guys!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you guys!!!!!!!!!!
what APR are you getting? what are your credit scores?
Your dealership can't control much of your financing stuff other then shopping for the best rates in town.
There are a few people getting their Evos under MSRP right now, but I think they are probably in the minority. If your APR isn't to bad I wouldn't sweat your deal - and $11/month shouldn't make up your mind for you...

sounds good to me man...i wish i had 5K to put down...i would already be in an Evo if i did
as for under MSRP....the profit on these cars is so small for the dealer that going under MSRP hurts the dealer and we don't want our dealers to go under
if they had larger margins on the cars i would try harder for under MSRP but i am being reasonable about it

The interest rating I'm getting is 4.7% thru one of the dealers lenders, and my credit rating is above 700. Now that I think about it, I guess I'm getting a pretty good deal huh? Keep the coments coming!!!
tpm 17 That's a pretty good deal. I'd say you have about a 3% APR with what your monthly payments are. Even if you went with a 60 month term, with that APR you'd be paying about $81 dollars more a month and only saving about $722 dollars over the life of the loan.
What you should do is try to come up with a bigger down payment. If you come up with $500 more for your down I'm pretty sure you'll get your $450. Good Luck

that is pretty good. i paid 1000 down on my oz lancer and with 4.9 apr pay almost 300/month and that was after getting the $400 gap insurance. i think that if i could get an evo viii for $461/month i wouldve been in an evo a month ago !
im a vendor and im telling u that in a bran new evo , u have less than 1000$ of profit and im telling u that 11$on 72 month is about 800$$ i have a oz-2003 and im payin 360 per month in 84 payments whit 2500$ down , its a very good deal ! try at 460$ one dollard off !
You know what I would do?
BAIL ON THE DEAL!
Tell them you want the payments down to $450.00, if they decline, say "hey look when your ready to sell a car, just give me a call (hand them your phone number) and leave"
I am 90% certain that they will call you back with the payments lowered down to $450.00.

OK, I bought mine with moonroof at msrp and it came out to about $33,xxx out the door. But before that, I went to find financing and got a 4.24% rate from Costco and they go through Peoplefirst.com for 60 months. I put 10k down and my payment is $370. I think msrp and 4.7% is a pretty good deal.
