Just got, buying, reviewing, thinking about a new Evo [Ultra Hyper Mega MERGE]

On the one hand, I need a practical reliable car for the family and on the other, I need to satisfy my performance car needs and dreams which I've had since puberty. I actually had a deposit on a TSX before I bought my Evo. It is a very attractive sporty car that is fun to drive and VERY practical. For the money, it is a real bargain and you can always get a two seat sports car later. So why did I change my mind? When it came right down to it, while my brain told me to get the TSX, it just wasn't exciting enough for me. I know that in a years time, I would already be looking for another car and I didn't want that. The Evo is exciting, every second that you drive it and for me, that was what I wanted more than anything right now. I still have some practicality in the 4 doors. To a certain extent, you have to be true to your own gut feelings. What will make you happiest... a totally reliable, handsome and sporty car with tons of great features or a no holds barred, thrilling rally car that puts performance above all else.
I in particular wrestled with this because I previously had an Integra Type R (definitely falls into the latter category) and then an M5 which was a nice but overly expensive combination of both. I needed to downsize and could only choose one feature of the M5 (luxury or performance) and at the end of the day for, me performance was what I truly cared about. I am 100% satisfied with my decision. Hope this helps.

"As noted in all arcticles" Spent its $ where it counts on the evo...... The driving experience . Your either driving or just riding with your hand on the wheel.
It would kind of suck to get the same color as your friend. BUT, if that's the color you really, really want, I'd get it anyway. I mean, it's not like you're going to driving alone side your friend everywhere you go.
Get an Evo, just a different color. I'm trying to convince my brother to get one. If he gets anything else I'll have to slow down around corners and wait for him @ stop lights just so he can keep up
I had this same issue years ago with a Rabbit GTI. I wanted a black one and my buddy bought one before me. I was bummed and ordered a black one with blue interior to be a little different. He was so pissed when I got my car, that he poured a bottle of brake fluid all over the paint which then proceeded to discolor and peel-off. The moral of the story?
Don't worry about it...just get what you want and don't believe every BS story you hear(like the one above!)
BTW- Mod your car and make sure its faster than your buddies.....its the American way!!

I have two friends with Evos; one silver, one red, and my blue. It makes for hella good times all rolling around together. You think you gets looks cruising with ONE Evo? Having a group is always fun.
Oh and listen to these guys, getting another color is probably your best bet IMO.

The EVO is one of a tiny number of cars under $50k that have real emotion to them (Miata, M3 are a couple others) - the TSX is completely devoid of any sort of driving feel. Sure it hits the right buttons - nice 6 speed tranny, 3 stage VTEC, great interior - but it would never be confused for a Type R (Honda's last good car) - Honda has managed to refine all road feel and emotion out of their cars. Hoorah for them.
The car mags are paid to praise cars, don't read anything into their reviews. You think our $12/year subscription fees pay the bills? Nope.

Do whatever you want.
Having two of the same color cars is also cool. Two of the guys on our race team both have same color cars. And we've been able to swap body panels between them on a couple of occasions - for example one guy had a spoiler and wanted to buy another one - so we swapped trunks on the two cars rather than swap spoilers (by far easier).
And as cool as it looks driving with two different color evos, the looks you get with two identical cars are priceless...

A out of state dealer near me has offered me a new Evo for $29,700. Is this a good deal? The car is not exactly the color I want, but I can live with it. This car stickers for $30,812. Has wing and sunroof (which I don't really need).......
