I went to tustin mitsu today and the markup is now 4999 instead of 9999. However, they added 1295 Low Jack, 1295 Paint Protect, and $295 lock bolts. So, it comes out about the same. The guy said that the Lo Jack was the only optional thing on there. He told me next week he gets 6 more so he'll be willing to get some of those off the lot since they have 5 already. We'll see...

Well, I guess thats good then. Hopefully the dealers will realize that they aren't gonna sell with crazy markups and then lower the markup to like $3K. And then we can go in and ***** and moan until they give it to us at MSRP. I'm sure they realize that by having 11 Evos on their lot will look bad...kinda shows that they have bad business since no one will buy it.

I agree here. Once the 2nd allocation hits (~ 2 weeks), dealers who are jacking the price a ton will have a ton sitting on their lot. Haggle and I'd bet you'd get sticker for it.

Well, I live at home with my parents. I have saved up $11K over the year and a half, by working at an Italian restaurant. Started using my dad's junky car that he rarely drives, and use that as my beater for deliveries. I make about $40-60 bucks a night on weeknights, and $50-$90 a day on weekends. Luckily, I don't have to spend a lot of gas since it only uses regular fuel and gets 22mpg, despite leaking injectors
Basically, I pay for everything I want to get. My parents pay for my college, and I work my *** off in college just like I did in high school, despite my job. I've saved up that much money by FOCUSING only on getting the Evo. I had to make sacrifices in order to get this car. Unlike other teenagers, I didn't blow my money off of clothes or weed or **** like that. I would get another job, but due to the gloomy economic outlook and the impending war on Iraq, I'm going to wait until the economy rebounds and job prospects aren't so bleak any more.

Speedkilz, if you are willing to make a few sacrifices, then you can save up a lot of money to get the Evo. That's what I did and I now have $11K and rising. Good luck to you man!

Thank for the info...but see the difference between you and me is the fact that I'm footing $40K a year roughly for college. The government is helping out some...but the majority of thier help is through loans, which means that my credit is down in the gutter so I can't get auto loans probably. But yeah, thats good that you save up and are able to buy your dream. Major props to you. Congrats on making it this far and I hope to hear that you get yours soon.

3 Fast Cars

I just bought a new red Evo! I can't tell you how great it felt to park it next to my 2002 Z06 Corvette and 1997 Eclipse GSX!

Pictures coming soon!

p.s. I paid sticker for the car!

Well I do have to sell the GSX. It is as fast as my Z06 (lots of mods) I am probably a little older than most of the people on the board (32) but I love cars and I had to work 2 jobs for 3 years in order to save for my stuff. I am not a rich kid by any means. I love performance cars and since I am single with no kids I am living life.

I just got in my vette today for the first time in months and I have to tell you guys.....that car screams! I know it costs a lot more too but it is worth every penny. The evo is truely a piece of work and you can't beat it for the money either!

I am selling my GSX for 16,900 and I have a list of people that are coming to look at it / buy it. I paid 22,000 for it new and it is 6 years old. (That's less than 1000 a year for a sweet ride)

I don't have any pics of the Evo yet but here are my other toys....
