Fuse blowing problem.

I have 03 Evo GSR. It has basic bolt ons, tuned, and I have never done any electrical work around it.
It did come with those MR gauges, and I did relocate it with CD player.
For about a year I'm having a problem with 7.5 amp fuse for tail light. When that fuse blows, I loose power in tail lights, brake lights, those MR gauges and right side marker... It use to blow only when I pushed it hard, but now it does it right away. I also tried using a 10 amp fuse but that didnt help neither.
One of my friends that works for Pep Boys used a device to check if I had any shortage, and he couldnt find anything.

Did anyone have the similar problem, or knows what could couse this?

Thanks up front.

Would only happen on a hard 1-2 shift. Wierdest thing ever!
Never found the problem and recently parted the car..
But please shoot me a pm if you do find the problem as it drove me crazy..
Good luck btw hope you find the fix...

Did this problem ever get resolved? I have the SAME problem and it just started after I had my car's 60k service performed. The shop said they didn't do anything, but it worked when I brought it there and it didn't when I picked it up... :/ I'm getting very irritated trying to track this down.

Disconnect the tail lights and side markers from the circuit and see if the problem still occurs.

I disconnected the tail light that doesn't work and it didn't help the problem. I will try the side marker next. Then the passenger side parking light, then the boost gauge, then the HVAC panel. And then I will start checking the brains of the car...I hope it doesn't get to this point.

Thanks!

My hazy memory is telling me the gauge package was dealer installed. If so, that's where I would look.

There is a known problem with a seal leaking water onto the harness behind the drivers side kick panel adjacent to the fuse box. I would pull this kick panel and see if there is any corrosion or evidence of water intrusion. It can cause several weird electrical gremlins. Also, check the security of the fuse block while you are down there. As mentioned earlier, if it is loose it can short out.

The fues blowing right away is a good thing. It means you can find the short. Intermittent shorts are a pain in the butt to find. Use a "short finder" or a home made one like I use (pictured). Plug it in place of the fuse. The light bulb being on will mean that the short is still there. The bulb will take all the amps coming threw the circuit and not hurt any of the rest fo the system. Start wiggling wires and disconnecting anything envolved with that fues untill the light goes out to narrow down where the short is.

The fuse panel under the steering wheel wiggles around (when the dash is not bolted to it), but is very secure when the bolt is in. I see not direct evidence of water corrosion or intrusion, but my first thought was water intrusion when the lights originally did not work because it was raining and my car was parked with the nose downhill.

I see no picture, but I will be doing as you advised tonight to try and find this (after I figure out why my car decided to blow white smoke everywhere this morning and not stop until I shut the car off).
