You owe 27,000? Im assuming you put some money down ? I sell cars for a living and they are the WORST investment by far . The honda is a great product that has one one the highest resale values . The evo on the other hand also holds its value fairly well. I know what you mean by the wife getting on you everytime you put money but its our hobby and nobody said it was cheap

I also have the honda pilot. different car, different purpose. why don't you rather trade the odyssey for the pilot.

That's an incredible trade-in value, assuming that he's not making it up by raping you on the Pilot. If the Pilot price is right and you want the Pilot, I say go for it.

the code is a high voltage code on #2 o2 sensor. I think it getting wet. Only comes on when it rains. I go another 20 miles and CEL goes off and 20 miles later comes on again. I cleared the code and it came back on when it rained and I went through a puddle.

It's barely even worth 29000 brand new, so if you really are getting that much for a trade-in when trade-in values is usually 4-5k less, then go for it. I don't know why you're asking us for help - this is your decision. Do whatever is best for you.

Yea be carefull , we like to " move numbers around to help you with tax puposes " but its really them stealing your trade and charging you more for the honda. Ask to see the appraisal on your trade in , and ask what you are charging me for the honda. They can also hide warrantys , tire wheel , gap etc in the payment so again be carefull. Ask what interest rate your getting and based on the purchase price of the car payment should be exact .

Seriously dude, if it makes you happy then do it, but the grass isn't always greener on the other side. I mean your not the first EVO owner to come to this cross roads and you won't probably be the last. But most of the times the owners seem to regret the choice and either come back or buy another performance car. I am not saying that getting rid of the EVO is not a good choice for you, if your not happy, your not happy, but for a Honda Pilot, I just don't see that as a good logical switch of cars (unless you are forced into that choice). Honestly I just don't think you'll be happy with such a switch.

Freinds of the family ?? i know car salesman that LOVE people like you . Just cause they are a freind of the family doesnt mean he has the best deal , remember no car dealership is gonna loose money to sell you a car , and they are not gonna give you more than blue book value cause they have to make a profit most the time they buy cars for 3-4 k back of book so 27,000 was BS for your trade in they are just putting in the HOOK , to get you in

Returning the car to stock may help you with your driveability issues; the beauty of a stock evo is its balance between practicality and all out performance. The Pilot is a fine car but getting kind of long in the tooth (based on the last generation Odyssey platform) and if it were me I'd get an RDX so at least I have some handling and performance thrown in.

The new Outlander starts at 20K and has an aluminum roof and 5 year warranty, the RAV4 has a great engine, and the CX-7 is reasonably stylish. The new MDX is also supposed to be something of a monster. Come to think of it, the Pilot is pretty much at the bottom of the list of SUV's I'd consider.

Just be sure it's what you want. Every day I'm running out the door to drive my Evo, whereas I'd pretty much make excuses to not drive a Pilot around.

Also you probably are choosing a Pilot because of the offer you got on your EVO, but seriously even if you take a negative hit get something else you know you will be happy with. You seem very wishy washy in your car selections, sorry but somebody who buys a brand new car and 4,000 miles later and money spent on mods, is just not very certain about what cars he would like to own in my opinion. You think you'll be happy with a Pilot, in my opinion your thinking wrong.

This is the deal. I owe 27,000. He offered me 29,000 and offered me the Honda Pilot ex @ 1000 above cost , which is 29,000 @ 7.25% OTD 501.00 a month 15 lower then what I paid for the evo. I did put money down on the evo about 7,000 that is why I'm asking for your thoughts.

So basically you would be throwing 5k out the window it doesnt seem like your wife would like that too much. Keep the EVO and fix the 02 sensor problem your far from upside down on it right now so keep it. Youll get better money for it down the road (less money thrown out the window)
