Obd ii

Any ideas on why my OBD II won't be read?
I plug it in, and it says "err 1".
It's an Innova 3030.
Or is there certain types that only work on certain cars?
I thought all OBD II scanners work the same.
Help me out. Thanks.

Oh I even took it in to a shop and they couldn't get a reading either.
They both had the same results.

Put your car on a trickle charger or swap the car battery for a new one. I had issues getting my ODB II scanner to work before and its because the battery was uber low.

I'm not sure if obd2 is observed by law in Guam.
Make sure the pin fitment is secure. Look for bent or corroded pins in the obd2 dlc.
Make sure both grounds work, and check for battery voltage at pin16
