vibrant resonator size?

I'm looking at their bottle neck resonators (seems like their ultra quiet ones wouldn't fit right):

http://vibrantperformance.com/catalo...oducts_id=1702

Wondering if the 5" OD will fit under the evo 8/9's without problems, or If I need to get the 4" OD. Also I would like to quiet down freeway driving so around 3k rpm range so does anyone know where is the best place to put the resonator to accomplish that? Like, towards the muffler side or the cat side of the midpipe?

thanks

it will fit where your exhaust goes straight right after the cat/tp/hfc. i have it on mine. just make sure you get the perforated one and not louvered full 3".

I already have a resonated test pipe, so I'm looking to add another in the mid-pipe. Was wondering if anyone had large resonators in their mid-pipes so I know if I can squeeze the 6.75" ultra quiet, the 5" bottle neck or the 4" bottle neck resonator somewhere behind the cat/tp/hfc.

both garage hrs and invidia catbacks seem to have decent sized resonators in their midpipes, but I cant find any specs on their sizing. sigh

I have the one you referred on my exhaust. It works well. It really smoothes out the exhaust note and gets rid if the raspy sounds.

From everything I've read it seems that adding a resonator will not quite down the cruising drone on the highway, resonators tend to cancel out mid/high frequencies, the way to get rid of the lower resonating frequecies is to use either another muffler as Parce did or to get a larger rear muffler.
