Well I went back this morning for a test drive. I got there at 9:45, car was warming up outside. I got in with my salesman and he said we'll do whatever I want to feel comfortable with the car. We went to a quite neighborhood (Quiet is an understatement at 10 in the morning) and he let me drive. He gave me tons of tips and pointers on driving a stick and we spent a good 25 mins just working on that. He was totally chill about it and helped me alot. By the end I was engaging it pretty smooth and banging through the gears pretty good. After that he offered to drive it out on the main roads and highways for a bit so I can see more of the performance. I have to save from the few corners he took aggressively the grip is just insane. Stuff that would cause my Mustang to fly into a tree this car handled with ease.

Best test drive ever. I'm really leaning towards the Evo right now. I think I'm going to wait for the 04 as I don't really feel like sucking up a years worth of depreciation right off the bat. Good stuff.

According to the dealer Evos are not covered under this. They will still have 3 year/36k mile. Anyone confirm?

40bhp from it? i highly doubt it... maybe conjunction with other bolt ons... the US evo is overly rich and it can be easily leaned out for alot of power and still plenty of room for safety.. the problem is the JDM sti is 300bhp and so is the US sti... the JDM evo is 300bhp... so its easy to hit 300bhp with simple mods... now you add boltons with ecu tweaking and you'll blast past 300 ... whats interesting is when Al at pruven dynoed evo's, he didnt have to do any setup. he said to do sti's, he had to do a special setup of the oxygen sensors... im not quite sure if its related to this though... anywayz the sti is costlier to mod... ok? hehe

The steering on the Evo is addictive I must say. It feels very kart like.

I have no idea whether it is costlier to mod, but god damn is it costly to modify the STI. I guess I need to stake out my corner in Hollywood again if I am to give my baby any additional power.
