You will have a much easier time getting the evo up to snuff than the STi at this time coming from an STi onwer. The Evo block is much stouter for your goals being cast iron and such, and I believe every thing you need to get 11's should already be available. There are a few threads here detailing the road. you can't go wrong with either one.

the 2.5 L block from the sti is very attractive.
but i found out that its from the Forester and the sti just has upgraded cylinder heads.

I love my Evo so much I can't get rid of it. I'm thinking of getting a 2nd for my wife.

I love how the Sti looks. White Sti's are to die for, but I am a Die hard performance guy. I dont care about looks I wanted the better performer out of the two. The winner was and is the Evo hands down. Maybe in three years when I finish paying The King off I will get an Sti, but for now I like beating them.

 

yeah whatever bro. unlike you i have no problem admiting that both cars are great. i think that for me the STI might be a bit better. maybe if you took the time to actually learn about the STI you would see that you really can't lose with either car. if you want to keep acting like a little kid and be so consumed with this stupid subaru vs. mitsu battle than by all means go ahead.

Trust me blonde I did my homework before I purchased the King. I took about a month to do so. I weighted the pro and cons and the Evo won. I also like the comforts like a Sunroof Radio without paying extra for it.

 

if you did the homework than you must know that both cars are great and it is really a matter of personal taste. i don't like my sunroof and the stock stereo sucks anyway so these 2 aren't really a selling point for me. i just don't understand why you feel the need to bash the STI every chance you get (especially on NASIOC which i really don't understand). is it really that hard to admit that both cars are good and that we are lucky to even get the option?

 

Actually no I am not that dumb to go say that I can beat every Sti. I raced two. Both Modded. The first one the road was not that long. He had me By a car or so. The second one I raced it was not even funny. I put a hurting on him. It was a friend of mines and it was slightly modded. After I beat him he went and spent around 800 bucks getting headers. I walk him again. All I am saying is that I was really impressed with the performance of the king. What kills me the most is that when he takes off he has me by 2 to 3 cars then I just come back to mop him up. I dont hate the STi at all. i just think the evo is better as far as upgrading and proven performance

 

I am in the same boat as you silver ghost.

I am selling my car this week. BUT it does not detinate, it does make more power than most modded sti's out there. the thing is, that I had to replace the turbo and injectors etc to get to 306whp. an EVO just requires a few bolts ons to get there. the 4g63 motor is just a piece of mind. its proven. No guessing with it. Let someone else break all the sti motors til they figure it out. the sti seats are a little more stiff. although i will miss the suede....but maybe i'll recover the evo seats. sti interior Owns evolutions interior. allthough the seats are tighter in the evo. but not height adjustable!? (drivers side) does anyone have a problem with wearing a helmet in the car if they have a sunroof? considering racing this car, and wondering if i should get the sunroof or not (sorry for the OT)

See Another Logical person on the Planet I would love to take the dashboard out of the sti and put it into the evo!
