I'd bet Tiff would pic our USDM evo over the STi. He'd picked the STi because he loves to powerside and drift which is impossible to do with AYC.

Tiff probably would, he is a wild man for over steer. sometime look for his Ford Puma car of the year video clip. It is absolutely wild what that guy can do. Jeremy and 1 other guy where afraid to get in the car with him, and Jeremy is a damn fine driver in his own right.

Did you guys notice that when they were both saying stuff about the car at the same time they both said "2.5 litre 4 cyl" 4G63 Evo engine is 2.0, is the FQ300 a 2.5?

I guess I will have to watch it again, but both cars in UK trim are 2.0 L. The FQ/Prodive packages are just a few bolt on goodies that raise the HP just a bit.

You dislike him because he chose the STi over the EVOVII? That seems pretty silly, almost NASIOC-like.

Road & Track Evo vs STi

The new R&T has Sti vs Evo. Both posted nearly identical 0-60 and 1/4 mile times:
Evo 0-60: 4.8
1/4 mi: 13.4@103.0
Slalom 68.9
Skidpad 0.88
60-0 108 ft
STi 0-60: 4.9
1/4 mi: 13.3@103.0
Slalom 68.4
Skidpad 0.88
60-0 111 ft

Evo won Performance Ratings, STi won Subjective and Evo won in price so overall the EVO was the winner. I think the STi gearing hurts it's acceleration times, but then again it is not a drag car.

haha nice

I've been avidly defending the Evo from some BMW owners who call it a "fixed-up Lancer"

I'm RalliArtRacer over there, but I'm sure most have already figured it out

that is a great discussion there... most of the people are very open-minded... very refreshing after the abuse the Evo & STi take on most forums.

In the end we can all say this...the abuse the Evo and Sti take is all pure jealousy...unless it's constructive, it's all jealousy...

Quite a change from the camaro boards. Being a traitor (coming from a 98 Camaro SS), I was keeping in tune with the boards and what they were saying about the Evo. Some of the comments were pretty bad. I have no problem with criticism, but dang. Some people are just in denial I guess.

Someone referred to the Evo as a "polished turd" and asked if anyone thought that thing would be a classic in 50 years. I almost pissed myself when I read that. Anyone here ever been in a late model Camaro? Classic in 50 years? Heh.

Me? I love my Evo.
