Evo vs. STI | Anything and Everything [ALL THREADS MERGED]
same story here, gave up on the STi and will be picking up my blue Evo tomorrow!!
Like what Willie said, I don't like the non-JDM 2.5 litre engine with funky injectors, ECU, Turbo (VF39 smaller than the VF30) and Intercooler. I would like the option to go beyond a simple boost controller, exhaust and intake upgrade. Sure they will have parts for the 2.5 in years to come, chances are, they're non-JDM.
It was a very difficult decision..until the discovery of the components of the USDM STi.
Sure both the STi and Evo have strengths and weaknesses:
I frown at the Evo interior, lack of AYC/ACD and lack of 6-speed and love the Evo Recaros, Wheels, Rear Spoiler
I hate the USDM STi Engine, STi wheels but love the interior, 6 speed and DCCD.
Engine is probably the most important factor that has a huge weight in my decision. My choice is clearly the Evo, not to mention the great price I'll be paying for my Evo, $29,000 plus a $500 college graduate rebate, bringing the price down to approximately $28,500 before taxes.

I still find it hard to believe that the STI will not be marked up big like the EVO. Magically, all the subaru dealers are "nice guys" and are not going to attempt to squeeze out every last drop of money they can get from a customer. The ONLY reason I can see them not doing it is because the EVO will be going for less than sticker almost eveyrwhere very soon. We are talking car dealers here, who are in business to make max profit. Some ram it in your face and some back door ya, but they all get ya!!!
I have a deposit down on a black EVO at a CT dealer for MSRP.
Delievery is not expected until sometime in June.
I'm getting a little uncomfortable about paying MSRP for this car. It appears some are actually starting to be let go below MSRP.
I saw one on Ebay recently go for 28,900.
Anybody know of any good dealerships in the NE willing to negotiate a bit?
Thanks!

Spyder talk to Billy (Sales Manager) at Manfredi Mitsubishi (718)981-2600. He's possibly one of the nicest Mitsubishi Dealers I have ever visited. Made my whole Evo shopping experience very personal.
Believe me, I went to at least 8 other dealerships before I came to this conclusion. Billy has also earned my trust, and if I ever want another Mitsubishi, I would know where to go.
I am in no way related or affliated to Billy or Manfredi Mitsubishi. Willie and Jimbo can testify to Manfredi's service. Btw, whatever color/spec you want, I believe Billy can get the cars for you.

for some reason the demand is too low, or the supply is too high for the Evo's all of the sudden. My idiot dealer in Central PA ripped someone for $2k over sticker on a Black Evo sold the same day as mine (i paid MSRP). But now you can find new ones for $1k off, or I even saw a 400 mileage white one on ebay for $27,500 no reserve....that is where the auction ended also.
I paid $30,052 for mine with no sunroof.... very happy with it so far.
