Mad Engine Knock! please help

car is 2005 evo 8 gsr. ets intercooler, rc 1200 injectors, walbro 255, gsc s2 cams, bbk full turbo, turbo back exhaust. Had car tuned in Los Angles, CA and was running pretty well. mainly drove car on E85. Moved to Montana where the elevation is a lot higher, and can only run 91 octane. Car runs pretty decent when you are cruising, but any time try to do a pull the engine light flashes (engine knock). i dont have any gauges, or a cord to plug into the car. There are not really any good evo shops in montana. what should i do about the engine knock?

would have to drive to English Racing to get retune, however the elevation would still be diffrent then Montana.

help me out guys, car has 67K miles, not trying to blow engine.

Get a remote tune. Aaron at English Racing does e-tunes, as does Tscomp.

Wow. I suggest you stop boosting if it is indeed tuned for E85 only and you switch to 91 octane at even higher elevation. I don't want to read your next post saying it went BOOM!

Rather than drive all the way back to English I would pick up what you need to remote tune , this way your tuned for the 91 you have available there and for the elevation your at. Going back to English would be pointless since the elevation is not the same. You can use English or contact Tom @ Tscomp. to remote tune.

not to mention buying the stuff to log and flash / remote tune is far cheaper then buying a new engine down the road. Plus you will be able to enjoy driving your car the way it is suppose to be driven.

As everyone said get the tactrix 2.0 cable and a wideband and pay someone for a email tune.
