CEL code: P0134

P0134 (02 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1 Sensor 1).

Ive done some research on the code and the advise I get is to change the 02 sensor. Question is if the 02 Sensor should be changed because it is not being detected? The 2012 evox MR only has 34k miles.

Also I could not find where the exact location of this 02 sensor is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The code means the signal from the sensor does not vary. The sensor is located on the exhaust below the turbo.

The computer is expecting the front O2 sensor to cross 0.5 volts in 30 seconds. If the front O2 sensor is weak, the computer in closed loop will use the signal from the rear O2 sensor to try to drive the front O2 sensor to 0.5 volts. This way the car can limp along on a failing front O2 sensor for awhile if the rear is working. I find that interesting since everyone says the rear sensor is only there to check the catalytic converter. Anyway, if the signal from the front O2 sensor doesn't cross 0.5 volts in 30 seconds the code is set.

Update: In the daylight I notice you drive an X. So maybe the exact criteria for setting the code could be different. Check the X section for advice.

I've been battling this code for awhile, never came across any real solutions. My car hasn't ran terrible because of it, probably because it is tuned and in close loop when the sensor malfunctions. I replaced the sensor and it was not the issue. Could it possibly be the wiring from the sensor to the ecu?

The O2 sensor should be in the O2 housing, right before the downpipe. On a Evo X, everything is behind the engine

grab a multimeter and measure voltage with o2 disconnected , usualy voltage coming out from ecu to oxygen sensor is 0,5v, I had issues with bad grounds causing ecu to freak out with o2

can you show a picture how to test 02 sensor
with a meter.
