So whos going to buy this Brand New Evo 9 MR?
It's going to be funny when media outlets want to interview the buyer of this car and it all comes back to being a high-up employee at South Coast Mitsubishi haha.
That said, at least the recent bids look like real people compared to all the bids around 80-100k

I was shocked to see it surpass 100k. Now Im thinking it'll fetch over 150k which is pure insanity. Don't get me wrong I love evos (obviously) but that seems to be a lil excessive for a 10yo car.
Im on the boat that says this car can't be driven. The investment was made in 2006 and now anyone purchasing this car if they have any chance of it retaining its value, it must sit and even then its now sold as a 1 owner car. How much more can it really appreciate if it sells for its current price?

Oh I absolutely agree with you; it's all a matter of opinion. I guess Im just shocking being that it really isnt that old and while technically evos can be considered a low numbers car its not like its 1 of 5. But and then again the thing is brand new so I guess perhaps it can be considered that...

While I agree in part, you talk about piece of mind and quite frankly somebody purchasing an evo for 150k probably isnt exactly hurting in the financial department so when it comes time to replace something Im not sure its exactly a big deal to them.
Now dont get me wrong, the fact that its never been titled is certainly helping increase the value of the vehicle but from my seat, if the new owner decides to start putting some miles on it, any investment in said vehicle is thrown in the trash IMO. The investment was made in 2006 when they purchased the vehicle and put it into storage. The new owner will be funding said investment so unless they put it into storage and let it sit for another 10 years I dont see this as as investment to the new buyer.

Oh Im well aware of that actually, lol!
I guess what Im getting at, and this is pure speculation, but in my opinion someone spending 150k on an evo is probably more well off than someone spending 150k on a GTR.
Either way, unless money is no object to you, I dont think anyone is spending this kind of money to then go and drive it. There are examples of clean very low mile evos; those are the ones that I'd think a well off person who wants a clean slate of an evo that will be driven will go after.
This car is special no doubt but what makes it particularly special is that its brand new. Once its driven its not nearly as special.

Agreed. If someone were to pay 3x what a car is worth, just for the heck of it, they obviously have money to throw away on frivolous stuff. So a warranty on this car is a non-issue, especially since it won't be driven.
I think this car would be awesome to drive around as-is or a fresh start for a build.. but at this price, it's rendered useless.
A shame and waste

How legit is that closing no. of $137,954.00
In an event, I think its great that the CT9A chassis has gained some level of appreciation lately.
Here in So. Cal, just seeing a CT9A on the road is a rare sight these days
