evo no start
so for a while I didnt hear my pump. disconnected the battery overnight and today I get the pump sound after cranking. i smell fuel from the head and exhaust. cool.
I bench tested my COP with its harness, spark is good. tested it on the car...I got power to the coils. and i got a 5v signal using a VOM. but when I tried to check for spark when the plugs are exposed/grounded i get no spark. I cant find my stock coils but just had it in my trunk last year so I might need to buy a used one. will try to look for it. or maybe I should buy new coils/harness

so I'm getting spark right after my last post. I did just see tonight that my timing belt skipped
while starting the car with a broken coil plug. only the intake cam gear skipped by 3, from what I can tell.
@CurseDSM is it tricky to remove the ATI Dampener? which puller/installer are you using? TIme for me to start preparing the car for a t-belt job. This is a freshly built motor but there's always issues so I might as well check whats going on in there

@CurseDSM how do i split up this ATI damper? TIA
This is the kit that I bought. I just have to find the right screws to put in the damper and I think it will come off with some force.

You will also need a t40 plus bit to take those stupid flat head bolts out. I had stripped one of mine out cause the damn shop used a half bottle of loctite on the damn thing and then over tightened them so I had a hell of a time getting them out. I am afraid if I use the puller I will pull the crank pully part of it off the crank then I am screwed. I do not want to have to redo the timing belt.
Sorry dude I had no clue my evom emails were in my junk mail for some reason. I haven't figured that out yet. I have a puller, I got it off summit its the ATI one but with the evo it doesn't come with the correct bolts to actually pull it off. I think they are 1/4 20 bolts but I am not sure.

i used this to pull the pulley and gear together. then shove the face of a rubber mallet to separate the pulley from the gear. for me this is ok since i'm planning to change my tensioner
for installation, the crank bolt can be used
so the idea is to remove all 9 bolts and somehow wiggle the pulley out from the gear. its hard to have any grip on the pulley with the timing cover. it will be very snug(some installation instructions even suggest to put the pulley in boiling water to install it). maybe those 3 jaw/claw puller tool is used on these, or some homemade tool to pull from behind the pulley. i'm thinking a (racheting) strap material
for the torx bolts, i made a T with my double sided ratchet which worked. I got lazy and impact wrenched the others lol. I used a standard torx set but it didnt strip the head. I did order a torx plus set and a fresh set of bolts since my other parts are still enroute

I am not looking to do the crank pully. So with that said do I just pull the top half off or does it have to pull out the crank pully as well? I am sorry but I'm confused on how this thing looks being I didn't install it to begin with.
had to find this vid to get an idea. you can also find for sale/ebay item pics

Thanks for the pic, I haven't seen anything online about any of that. I have however seen people use antiseize to help with this but some say it works some says its useless so idk. After looking at it again last nite now I see that part only has 9 holes for the screws and not the 3 extra for the puller. So now it makes total sense I jet need to find the right size screws. Mine will not fit 5/16 bolts that were supplied in the kit.
You can get the HF tool or just buy the bolts from home depot (seriously lol). But again using the bolt holes removes the whole thing. Removing just the ring youll need a jaw puller. Youre replacing the sensor right?

Yeah that is exactly what I'm planning on doing. I just need to get the heat turned down some it's going to be 95 today with like showers in the forecast so when I left work this am it was already 90 out with 80% humidity. Oh and I need to get some time to get under the car.
