So, I went to check my timing and noticed my exhaust cam was one tooth off. I removed the timing belt to correct the timing and noticed the exhaust cam was loose. I could freely turn it. I opened up my valve cover and notice 3 rockers have come off. Would 1 tooth cause PTV damage? I just rebuilt the head and had it started before the non starter issue.
Regime it and dob leak down test. That will tell you everything you need to know.
Normally with these engines 3 teeth off or more usually wack the valve train
So tuner pulled my map off the haltech and noticed a few things that weren't right with the map. They are finishing up stuff on the car being now all my parts are there, so I decided to powder coat my calipers and valve cover.
Next I kinda went off the deep end and ordered the stuff to make my car drive by wire. Being I have had so many problems with idling and part throttle I decided to spend the 800 bucks for everything and totally fix all that.
Unfortunately I'm fabs doesn't make a flange for the Bosch 74mm TB that's dbw so I upgraded to a 82mm being I know that works well. Idk if I will like the larger TB and I don't wanna shift my powerband even more to the right but at the end of the day it should take care of most of my problems with my idle and part throttle.
I went off the deep end yet again but this time for the better. My dbw 82mm tb came in yesterday, and my evox gas pedal, mounting plate, hardware, and cables came in with my new hardware and crossover over tunes for my front calipers. Being jm fabs doesn't make a 74mm TB flange for the TB I had to upgrade to an 82mm tb which they make a flange for. So basically just take the front end off the manifold swap new parts on good to go. My brembos and valve cover are going to be powder coated gloss black for color matching on the car. That is all for today.
Yeah it is but I don't like the fact I had to go up TB size to get one ya know. 74mm is plenty when the car was making 1100 plus HP this is just flat overkill. Specially since I'm going back down to a 6466.
Im dbw on my 2500 with a 82mm. Cars street manners are perfect with no real downside.
Yeah I'm happier that the car will idle much better and be much better control of idle and on my launch. Part throttle on my my car sucked so that will help with that as well
Well did myself a favor and bit the bullet one more time. Being my arm is still pretty ****ed up and will be for a while I dropped the coin on an IRP short shifter for the car. I will be able to drive the car in a few months, but with my specific injury this will allow me to have my shift hand up higher and short throw which will be better for the car and my arm. Should be here Saturday. I'll take some pics when it arrives.
Ok it has been a minute since I have updated this thread. Car still doesn't start lol. The shop had to destroy the ATI dampner so I had to buy another one. I did find out somehow my crank trigger got all kinda messed up and I had to buy a Kiggly trigger which i am ok with being more better. Here are some pics of all that is going on
theres more to come but I am late for tharapy and I need to get going so I will upload more if I can when i get back.
You will like the response you will get from the Kiggly 12tooth. The only thing that makes my 8 feel like a heavily modified car is the Comp Twin clutch, other than that it can drive like my stock Ford Fiesta ST.

Yeah my crank trigger had a groove halfway around it and it was torn in half almost on the other half. It was like how the hell did this happen? So after I found out all that was destroyed I called Kevin and asked him to send me one of his crank triggers I figured he would be a lot better for the car is modified it as it is and it will be better for the setup.
There are a bunch of things still to be done I still have to go through all of the fuel stuff to make sure the wiring is still there I had to reduce some of the wiring before all this happened and I think that may be part of the problem I'm not sure.
Lol you know that nice cool breeze that hits you in the face when your at a stop light when its 100 degrees outside and humid as hell. My truck has it and its pretty amazing lol. No I wanted to put it back in because of with my current injuries humidity and damp really affect me in a pretty bad way. So if I can put air in to help that I should be able to drive the car again. On a side note I did find some stuff that needed attention as well. My iat sensor wires were not properly in the plug and were all corroded and frayed up so that will get fixed. I am just waiting on the upper ic pipe to get my 3 to 3.25 coupler so I can put it back on and that part of the engine can be buttoned back up.
