Yeah he wants to start e85 pulls today, but I don't know if my father will have the patience to wait think he's coming with me to pick up the car. Final numbers were for pump 606-487 I believe. Not bad for pump gas. The car still has to have the interior put back together why it's completely out of the car I have no idea, it still has to go for alignment being the wheel bearings had to be fixed, he wants to do e85 pulls but he was up to 7:00 this morning finishing pump gas, they want to detail the car and fix the paint which won't happen, I still need to get the trailer ready I still need to do laundry it's going to be a long day for me again but I think the car will be okay
Today I thought was going to be a good day. Day before shootout I will get the car, drive it home and see how my arm reacts to a new shifter, a car that actually has some power to it and to top it off another great day to spend with my father. ..............
So drive out to the shop and look at the car on the dyno as my tuner wants to turn it up past 22 lbs on just pump gas. Ok great sure yeah lets roll excited. So car goes up to 25 psi and makes 609, cleans up the afr's a little 617, awsome adds more boost gets it running 28 psi car makes 615 very nice, he notices something he didn't like and oops over boosts goes to 32 lbs car makes 641 but he couldn't pin everything to make it safe and good to go, the octaine just wasn't there. Ok fine so we drop back down to 28 psi car sits at 615/486. I am happy with this. So here is how the graph looks
So were all happy and honestly we were trying to make 700 on that dyno and he said if i wasn't in a hurry to get the car home we could have prob made it close. But with all said I am pretty happy with these results.
Now its time to take the car off the dyno and just test drive it for afrs during cruise and maybe make a rip to check things out on the street and then something happens trying to back the car off the dyno. Car for whatever reason wont go in gear then it happens. Tuner comes out and says dude we got a problem.. He was like tried to put it in gear and the pedal went to the floor and is acting funny. Ok no problem lets re bleed the clutch just in case. Sure enough a little air in the system and then he feels a funny vibration as he tries to compress the clutch. Ok Huston we have a problem. Yep sure ****ing do.
Day before the ****ing shootout and this happens. Was kinda odd to see being he saw this under the car, then he found another peice and then some more coming out of the inspection hole. Yep sure as **** disc ate itself somehow.. Now these discs are rated 845 crank I am no where near that well I am close but yeah not happy. So after spending my life savings and basically selling my ***** to pay for the ungodly bill to get the car out this happens. Shop is going to try to find a disc in the am and if they can get it I may wait a little bit to head down to Norwalk just to go pick the car up. But getting a ceramic disc same day out there is next to nill . Tuner said if they get it done by friday he will drive it out there for me and i would just have to bring my trailer for the way home. Ikd I can honestly say i am defeted, I am still injured and I am broke.
That sucks man! hopefully you get it sorted out. Did you plan to make a few passes?
Yep ACT clutch, organic discs that suppose to hold 845 tq at flywheel. And no i just wanted to have the car to drive since its been over a year. ****ty thing is I had to buy a new clutch being I cannot get discs anywhere in time but i could get a whole new clutch by noon tomorrow so i had to do what i had to do.

Well stm came through. Over nited a new clutch since no one can get me what I need today or over nite. So had to buy a new clutch. I mean what's 2 more grand right. Car will be here at the shootout hopefully tomorrow
What did you go with. The same clutch just different disk
Yeah , point was I could rebuild that one and either sell it or have a spare. I was told fluid does this, but my tuner said no evidence of oil anywhere so idk.
So not much to update at this time for me. E85 is becoming e70 here and hard to get a good dyno day. I will say that my last session on 26 lbs same as pump gas car made 650/515. I will say this turbo with my setup is incredible. Car isn't really laggy with large cams and intake mani and all the other things that make a car lag. Over the winter I am planning on going to a 3" lower pipe off the turbo and a 4" downpipe. I have reason to believe that this will make some pretty good gains. My hope is to get the car fully tuned and do a swap of the parts and do a back to back for my tuner. All in all I am pretty happy with the car and how its running. Thing is a beast being a sub 3000 lb car on a full tank of gas. It feels pretty damn fast regardless of whats in it and way faster then my 72mm was at all facets of the game. The only thing thats different is the 72mm obviously ran to 62 lbs and made a ton more power but very boring to drive. This turbo seems to again match my setup really well and is a blast to drive being it makes power everywhere in the map and hits extremely hard.
Well I was able to return to the dyno yesterday. Needless to say it was a long day being somehow my alignment still wasn't right so we strung it and fixed that. Added a turbo speed sensor which took forever being no one told us we had to shave down the compressor cover to make sure it sits in there correctly. Not happy about that, but once we figured it out and got it working it helped alot. Being there isn't much info on this turbo I do not wanna over spin it and at 30 lbs and 120k turbo speed shaft speeds I am feeling pretty comfortable about how the car is acting. My car right now still is on soft timing only 6* up top but peeking at 30psi car made 687/541. We also put my stock rims and tires back on being its ****ing cold here in mi, and my 200 tread tires need to get put away, and I know with the nto3s on there car prob makes a little bit more. We are also finding out that I am starting to lose fuel pressure up top. At 30 lbs im dropping fuel pressure to about 36 lbs and I am thinking that maybe I have a hole in maybe a fuel line in the tank. I know my car when it had the 72mm on there never had an issue with fuel pressure drop like I am having now so I wonder if its the rubber line connecting the line to the fuel pumps. I guess its one thing after another with this thing.
Well as we are approaching winter, I still have e80 for gas so I continue to tune the car. We are having a fuel issue where at upper boost levels my fuel pressure continues to drop. It has been cold here and I have been sick and looking for work being I have been cleared to go back to work finally. But last time I was at the dyno took a video of getting the cars anti lag going.. Yes I know car is still rich it was the first attempt lol.
There is a gas station by my house that still has summer blend in the tanks cause the tree huggers out here don't run e85. I have filled up 3 times in the last month and still says e80 so I'm going to keep going till it drops and I can put 93 back in. The good thing with still getting e85 is I can work on cold start when the car is completely cold. I don't remember if I posted this yet but I will be going dual 3 port setup as well next Dyno session so I can run smaller springs in the wg and have more control over wg duty cycle. This will allow the car to not want to try to make 30 lbs of boost while in part throttle. I guess Honda guys do this with a lot of success with their divided t4 setups. I will run a 5 lb spring in both wg and get the 23 lb springs out of there
Well I got more good news today check this out. So Apparently this isn't the shops fault, but they were the last ones inside my fuel tank. So if there was something wrong with the wires and or sending unit and no one said anything about this and i look at this today and find this how is this my fault again? Shop denied that there was anything wrong so this means now I have to buy another sending unit and a plug.
I have yet to find a shop that doesn't give you bonus damage and problems. sorry bro
Yeah kinda pisses me off. Thankfully my tuner is a good dude and he is doing everything he can to help me. He wants to fix what is wrong here and call it a day, but the plug in end of the sending unit no one sells and bpr will not sell it to me. So in that case Alex (owner of bullproof racing) said he would help me with a new sending unit and add extra grounding to the sending unit being he thinks that was the problem. The thing is and what I am afraid of is the idiot who installed the new pumps cut the plugs out of them and wired them with connectors instead of using the stock stuff. If I find that when I take it apart I am going to come unglued on the guy. I told him not to touch the wiring and he did.
