Simple Question for those who have installed a Gauge

How did you wire the illumination so that it dims with the instrument cluster. I have an autometer gauge with two wires. Black and Red, where is the easiest place to put them.

I've read posts that say the dimmer is negetive or something. What does this mean and how can I wire my gauge to it?

Other posts suggest taping into the cigarette lighter. How do you wire it to this and how do you get the center counsel off?

Thank you

You can get the center counsol off by taking off the two small screws inside your armrest compartment.

Thank you, I got access to my cigarette lighter, hooked up the red lead of my gauge to the green wire and still no dimming action. I'm starting to wonder if this gauge can be dimmed at all, and autometer has great technical support that get's right back to you... no sarcasm.

Got Autometer - didn't worry about a dimmer. My dash overall is so dim that I have it on max the entire time anyways.
