^ not everyone wants to blow a wad of cash on body parts.
of course "authentic" parts are better but $$$,
id rather try to modify then buy.

The testors paint I used did not hold up well at all, and yes I used a clear coat. Looked good for maybe 3 months I wet sanded it all off and went with a vinyl over lay.

Thank you. I will be working on mine tonight hopefully after I get home from class.

I bought some Red Krylon and it looked a bit awkward when I sprayed it on a sheet of glass and let it dry but hopefully it look good on the tail lights when done.

I used to have a set of real 7's on my old silver evo 8 and liked them quite a bit but I refuse to pay that much for a set of tail lights that can be replicated very closely for $10.

Did you clear coat your or no?

I had an auto body shop clear it.
any clear coat I used out of a can didnt mesh with the paint and went fisheye. even krylon clear
I did some tests on some old headlights and some stock 2g tails I had sitting around.

My test piece is a clear piece of lexan. I sprayed it with krylon red glass paint at about noon, I will have to spray it with clear tomorrow and see how it goes.

Thank you for all of your help.
