have you thought about doing HID fog lamps? i was just thinking about doing those. I was thinking about using this set http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...roducts_id=243 "blazer fog light stage III kit" something different is all since it would be nice to have some brighter fog lights.

Theres no room to fit a "whole" projector in the:
* CT9A high beam housing &
* CZ4A DRL/AFS housing
That's why ^^ headlights run "fake" projectors

CZ DRL/AFS housings needs to be hacked to fit the projector. Then you need to reslove waterproofing issues

CT high beam housing needs to have a cylindrical enclosure siliconed at the back to keep the projector fully enclosed inside the headlight..

^^ too much work

What type of paint was used to change the projector lenses? This didn't effect output at all?

im going to try and get pics today to see how it looks on the car if it doesnt look good then they are going to get backed out. right now i got jst a tint on the tails to give them that smoke look. it would be a lot of white in the back =unless i had a carbon trunk to help off set.

For a CT9A is it possible to put a projector in the "blank" spot where the foglight would be? (US spec IX GSR's dont come with anything but a fake chrome cap in that spot).

^^

I was asked a similar qn in a PM..... heres what I said:

Even fitting the smallest projector will still be too long. It will stick out at the back. You will have to resolve waterproofing issues...

Here's a IX that looks to have retrofitted a whole projector. Dont know how they've resolved waterproofing at the back...
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...r/IMG_1940.jpg

JDM foglight housing is made of aluminum, it would be a pain to cut it and fit a projector... Not sure if the USDM foglight housing is aluminum as well..

Foglights only have up and down adjustment at the back.... No left to right... If you were to retrofit a projector you would need to get the left/right alignment soot on b4 you sealed the HL

In a nut shell, if you can resolve waterproofing, give it a crack...

That's all in the info I can think of from the top of my head... If I think of anything else I'll let you know

Cheers,
Stevo

In your case:
* That so called "Cap" is actually part of the chrome housing:
http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/9072/12e.jpg

you will need to "Dremel" it out and create a perfect circle.. I hope you have steady hands.. Also dremel out the rear of the HL...

* You have nothing to mount it to.... Cant mount to the foglight reflector like HID HLs coz you dont have one... There is also NO up/down adjustment screw like the HID HLs

These are the best pix I have in my archive relating to the foglight housing:

I never thought to take pix from behind

On the quad setup, is the highbeam still hooked up and useable? Or is no function lost with the aid of some serious looks?

I would never modify headlights to lose any of the major lighting sources:
* Low beam
* High beam
* Turn signal
* Parkers

DRL is just a stupid light source.... Dont need that here in Australia...

For the CT9A quad setup ive ditched the Single Xenon OEM projector for an FX-R BiXenon projector which does Low AND High beam

As you can see, high beam now comes from the traditional low beam housing..
