New headlights on the block
I get how you change the projector light color but how are you doing it to where from left side is one color andd right side is another? Are you just painting half. And half on the back half plastic piece? Also I havve taken my headlights apart once before to paint them black, is it alright to take them apart again or will the oem silicone need to be replaced this time? I wish I would have seen this thread before I did mine the first time I didn't know you could change the projector color.
so what is the point of this just to make the headlight have a unique look? does it affect the color of the light at all? and what are you using to get the projector like this? do u color the inside or outside of the lense?

You don't paint the lens AT ALL.... You paint the cutoff shield shown in the pic

I did my last set of headlights black, now I'm gonna take them apart and do the two color projectors. If I like it ill stick with oem projectors.

^^
I was asked a similar qn in a PM..... heres what I said:
In your case:
* That so called "Cap" is actually part of the chrome housing:

you will need to "Dremel" it out and create a perfect circle.. I hope you have steady hands.. Also dremel out the rear of the HL...
* You have nothing to mount it to.... Cant mount to the foglight reflector like HID HLs coz you dont have one... There is also NO up/down adjustment screw like the HID HLs
I never thought to take pix from behind

Thank you for such detailed information!
I have one final question before I can determine if this is the mod for me.
As I have a CT9A GSR (IX) I do not want to lose the "black chrome" finish the lights currently have, yet want to replace the high-beam with another projector (or HID) for the quad look. Is it possible to retrofit the GSR headlights to do dual projector/hid without having to respray or lose the black chrome?
Note: JDM IX MR taillights with the black chrome just got installed so I am extra cautious about ruining the continuity.

^^ making a True quad priojector CT9A HL will require some work if done properly. There are various projector choices and configurations possible to have the quad setup.
I could go on all day about the different projectors and setups doable..
I could throw lots of questions your way like:
* Do you still want to use the OEM single Xenon (Low beam only) projector?
* do you want to upgrade your single Xenon projector to say a TSX / RX330 /S2K projector?
* If you stick with a single Xenon projector in the low beam housing, what BiXenon projector (Low & High beam do you want in the high beam housing? FXR? Mini H1? Mini D2S?
* do you want to get rid of OEM single Xenon projector and use 2 BiXenon projectors, one in the low beam housing, the other in the high beam housing? This will give you quad low beam, quad high beam...
I could think of many more questions...
At the end of the day, if you did retrofit a single or BiXenon projector in the high beam housing, you're going to need to use a "shroud" to reduce that 105mm wide round high beam housing hole so that only the 2.5" or 3" projector lens is vibible. The rest of the projector needs to be covered up...
Now that you've sorted that, when you retrofit the projector into the high beam reflector you will have the rear end of it sticking out the back of the headlight. You need to resolve waterproofing issues. You will need to use something in the shape of a pipe with a cap on the end. Have that plastic welded to the headlight so the whole projector in encased inside the headlight (Just like the projector in the low beam housing of a HID headlight.
See for yourself:

Now that you've sorted that, pop ur hood and see what room you have directly behind the high beam housings on both sides.. Do you think you need to relocate any of the bottles??? I think you do
You still wanna do a TRUE quad setup??
