Keep wingless looks more slick. The wing boxes the car too much.

An evo just doesn't look right without the wing IMO. It just balances the car out and makes it look meaner. I hate spoilers on pretty much any other car though.

I agree keep the wing on... I hated the side profile of my evo when I took the wing off.

This my problem too...maybe I'm just becoming an old fart. Trying to pass off any form of professionalism with a big spoiler and loud exhaust is becoming difficult. I try to tell myself that the car is the way it is on purpose, but that doesn't seem to help anymore.

With that being said, I don't see myself taking off the spoiler anytime though

I feel the same way. But then I consider the fact that if it was a Porsche gt2 or gt3 with ginormous wing on the back, no one would consider it to be an issue. That's my justification for rocking it. Lol

Didn't read the thread, but my opinion is...

the trunk is angled/sloped downward too much to go completely wingless. If you put that small wing on it helps.

Over a year ago, I ditched the wing for a Rexpeed spoiler. Haven't regretted it one bit.

I think it looks good with wing/without. But I like it better without.

Not that I had ever a problem with the police, but it's a positive not sticking out as much.

I also noticed looking at the rear view mirror, I can see much more with no wing. Lol

The inner ricer in me needs the wing.... Next time I get pulled over the first thing out my mouth to the officer will be, I'm sorry Officer, was it the wing?

I held in a position in a networking group with many people who make well into six-figures annually (various attorneys, real estate agents, mortgage brokers, etc.). None of them looked at me any different when I'd drive up in the Evo. They actually just made me President of the chapter, actually.

And then also the F40, or even some of the older cars like the Plymouth Roadrunner, or whichever variant of that car that had the huge wing.

I agree somewhat. But the Do-Luck trunk may help solve that:

The Rexspeed one is cool because it covers up the holes on the trunk when the wing is removed, but I'm just not a fan of it. It's just my opinion (and some may disagree), but I wouldn't recommend it unless you had no other options to avoid having holes in your trunk (i.e. filling the holes or getting a wingless trunk). But some people really dig it.

Same here. I've been driving Evos since 2006 and have been in front of law enforcement officers MANY times, and I've even watched them run my plates at a red light. The only time I had ever been pulled over was because I was in the carpool lane by myself (though I crossed in and out when the lines were broken while just to pass a slower car, which I didn't know was illegal), and I was even let go with a warning. So it's not nearly as much of a cop magnet as much as improper driving is.

That's the one I was talking about. Anything to disrupt the downward slope would help.

It's not bad, but personally it's a bit of a waste. Unless your Evo is a dedicated track car where tenths of a second count, it's a lot of money for a little gain to go with a carbon fiber trunk and then drill holes into it to put the OEM wing on, though usually at that point, people are going with a more aggressive wing.

I like the OEM wing is why. I bought the trunk and put on the wing strictly for looks, not time. After looking at a bunch of wings (too many wingless in my area), I kept coming back to the OEM one in my garage. I looked at some pics online and decided that I really liked the look
