*** Official Plasti Dip/Flat/Matte Evos Thread *** [MERGED]
Been there done that the reason why evonub is trippin is your wheels are going to be chipped and nasty looking in no time. I even went a step farther and sanded my stockers and removed the stickers and they still chipped like crazy with the "wheel paint" and the clear coat as directed. Rattle cans are for arts and crafts, the wheels simply take too much abuse.
wheels look good, but those arent "brownbos" they are just faded as hell. "brownbos" only happen when you actually track your car and the heat turns the red into a maroonish brown color from the heat baking the paint off. your car hasnt seen the track or they would look alot different.

I'd imagine using plasti dip on the calipers would not work due to the heat. I plan on tracking the car next spring. I have a fear that the plasti dip will melt onto the brake pads or rotor and would limit braking.
I did three heavy coats overall.
You could do it with less I am sure but in this case I think more is a bit better.
Thanks! I think these are pretty faded. I'm not good with colors, so I'd have to say they are pinkbros

wow those things are done! i dont think ive ever seen a pair that faded. you can always just use some 2000+ degree paint for barbecue grilles thats what alot of track guys do because no matter what its going to turn brown or black from the heat.
no problem, you might want to use 500 grit sand paper on them then 750 and finally 1000. after you can use a self etching primer to make sure it sticks really good and finally add the barbecue grille paint. should last a while and worst case ur out about $15-20.
Duplicolor makes a good caliper paint and its only about 20 for the kit. It also comes in a spray can for about 8 bucks. I know they have black if thats what you were going for.
Very nice.
I love when people question plastic dip for duribility. I have painted several cars and trucks wheels and bumpers with that stuff. Wheels don't get as beat up as people think.
Hell My last truck saw many highspeed dirt roads and its plastic dipped wheels where still perfect.
