It's all taste man. Mine is black with a low wing. I didn't buy this car for the looks or the status, I bought it for the mechanicals. People that know their stuff are the ones who dig it. Also fewer boneheads try to race me. I have personally loved the lack of attention by the cops. But hey, I am a guy who likes sleeper cars! Check it out: http://www.turbovan.net/van.html

One thing I can say (and might be a bigger deal to you at this point) is that the low wing cars don't sell as well, and I got an incredible deal on mine cause it was the last day of the month.

Enjoy your new car, and drive safe!

you should really go for the look thats best for you.... but I would go with the cf or no wing at all, because the low pro just doesn't give the car the aggressive look...

I've always been an anti-wing supporter. Until the Evo...

While it does look great without a wing. It just loses the sports car feel. And that's saying something! Even with the red brembos and front mount.

Without the wing it's body turns into a 00 Audi A4 that had sex with an Lexus IS300.

The wing just meshes with the car perfectly.

why would you care what we forum members think? all that matters is what you like. it's like asking us if you should wear boxers or briefs. get the Evo with either wing and drive it hard. look for mustangs, hopped up civics and morons in saab turbos to humiliate in front of their girlfriends.

I must agree with all the guys who like the cf wings, aside from looking cool and evoish it is also functional at hi-speed....speed w/o control is nothing.

Well, chances are that you have already gotten your car by now, but it just depends on whet you want. If you are going to be going over 86 miles an hour a lot, and driving in a way that would warrent the extra push on the back end, then the CF wing. If not, then it's only purpose is to look good. If you don't like the look then go with the low profile wing. Honestly, it just depends on what you like and how you are going to be driving the car.

the low profile wing has grown on me. it matches the angle of the quarter panels perfectly. i think it was originally made for the evo gt-a and not the oz, thats why it flows so well. I've been trying to get a more flattering photo. and also it does keep the long lived evo tradition of a wicker.

I went with the low wing on my BBY. My thoughts were that the CF wing was just too much of a cop-magnet for my taste. I think that the majority of Mr. John Law around here wouldn't know an Evo from an Evel Knievel, but the CF wing would have them just achin' to pull me over... All I know for certain is that I've already gotten away with a couple of blatantly stupid tricks right under a cruiser's nose. Did the low wing have anything to do with it? I dunno, but it sure got an extra coat of wax the next day.

-Unpractical-

P.S. - Is there any hard data stating that the low wing is purely decorative, or what? It sure feels like an airfoil shape to me. I'm wondering if it provides -any- downforce at all, or is it just eye-candy?

If you did get the low profile wing, try maybe removing the center post for a bit of a different look.
