i took the wing off my sti and it feels just as solid at 150+mph as ever. plus, i don;t have to worry about cops anymore!(as much anyway..) well they still see the scoop and gold rims,but they don;t get me pulled over in form of my house like the wing did.... people still don't beleive it's stock. (well the looks are ) and i still have no one that wants to race!! the moral of the story? people who know, know. they'll se the brembro's at the very least. i think you should get the cf wing,then sell it and go wingless. you should still make a profit afte getting trunk repainted.

 

Before I took off my Evo wing permanently I drove the car for a week with the wing off and the car feels as solid as ever, everyone on this board told me that the car becomes shaky at high speeds and that is 100% not true, trust me if it had effected my handling I would have put it back ASAP, I took some 100mph+ turns on freeway ramps and believe me the car is as solid as it can get, if you don't believe me just unbolt the wing and go for a drive. So just go with what you like and what looks good to you, as far as perfomance you won't feel a thing, if it was that unsafe to have no wing then would never sell the Evo with no wing option.

 

At first I didn't like the cf wing, thought it would look rice. After nine months with it can't see the car without it.

Hey, it's about how it works. I like that the car turns heads and elicits comments but I bought it for how it works. The factory put a lot of work into the wing. Unfortunately it obstructs the view rearward. Mine big wing stays for now.

 

If you are going to buy an evo reqardless of what you think of the looks the wing is manditory. You are getting one of the best all time vehicles you have to go for the wing. I had the same thoughts as you and I am coming from an nsx and the wing is the way to go.

without the stock cf wing, it's like the diff between an sti and a wrx... u need that to make it took firey and aggressive!

 

Uggg no one mistakes EVOs for OZs. WRX for STI maybe not in case

 

i always though that the EVO without the spoiler makes the car look like a kid with a fat head. it just doesn't look proportional at all.
