Yeah, the only thing about the STI wing is that it really doesn't blend smoothly with the body line at all. There are some other wings which I think look much better on the GD*'s, were I to go that route. The JDM STI CF wing is beautiful in person, as are a few others...but in the city with the nation's highest percentage of law enforcement to people (for its size), it _really does matter_.

 

this poll doesn't make much sense... i don't like the wrx wing because it looks ludicrous on the car... that's the reason.. not the one that's listed... there's no "econobox stigma" attached to the evo for me....

but, i will say the evo doesn't look right without the spoiler because it has a very aggressive front ... it just seems very incomplete without the spoiler.. very sharp lines, whereas the sti's lines are blunter and more rounded... which looks better wingless

 

Ok, then everyone can consider the STI option to also say "The STI looks better without the wing than the EVO without the wing, and the STI wing looks ludicrous on the car".

 

I have a wingless EVO (White). I really like the STi and would have bought it was it not for that HUGE scoop on the hood. You can take the wing off, but there is no way to hide that scoop.

 

Do you have pics posted anywhere, by chance? I'd love to see how it looks...

 

Can you take a pic of the rear straight on, squatting down (so you don't see the top of the trunk lid, if that makes any sense).

It's surprisingly light. The entire wing, including the mounting hardware and both side pylons, weighs 8.5 pounds, if you are to trust what my notoriously unreliable bathroom scale says. It might be a little heavier than that, but not much. It's so light it feels like it's made of carbon fiber. Wait a minute, it is carbon fiber!

You can't compare a Lancer to an Evolution. The US Lancer is really really ugly, wing or not.

You should park next to a wingless Evolution, and you will see the difference.

 

Heck, I'd like to park next to one period I'd probably have to catch the one in town, though, before I could do that

 

i like the EVO better w/o the wing, not gonna be rippin around 120+ very often, and it helps keep ricers and cops off your ***.

 

I like the wing. I like the wingless look also. for me, I'm going to stick with the wing .

 

I would agree. The Evo looks better regardless, but the other styling touches (hood vent, et al) seem a bit out of place when the wing is gone.

 

IMO.... the evo wing looks weird only after its been lowerd for some odd reason...
