Well, I sifted thru some of the stuff that was posted but didn't read everything. Lots of comments since I was last on.

Anyways, for those of you who think I am some skinny jean wearing, flat-brim hat sporting, no lens glasses kind of guy, you couldn't be more wrong. I bought this Evo 2 years ago to do just this. I mean it's an SSL, it's not like it's an RS or something that was 100% made for the track, either way, I understand that it's extreme and most people on EvoM will disagree with it. I haven't cut into it yet, still planning and thinking it all thru.

Like SmurfZilla said; I've been here long enough to know this was going to happen. I expected this reaction from the community. I'm not here to tell anybody that they're right/wrong. I respect you track/drag guys for using your car for what it was more intended for, sometimes I wish that's what I was into, but I'm not into that. I've never been some speed-demon who loves taking corners super fast, but I do like a quick car.

I'll read your opinions about how much you like/dislike what I am doing, I'm not going to get mad at you guys because you are ripping on me. I will upload pics when it's completed.

Carry on.

Haterz gun hate homie.

I have friends that are raging Liberal Democrats. I also have friends who have stanced cars. Hell, my girlfriend is even Catholic. They all know how I feel about it, but we still get along.

^^^ Gotta say. Totally disagree with everything that "lifestyle" and cars stand for. But Kbuss' post at least was level headed.

although it is fun when the OP (in any thread) gets all butt hurt and start calling out people with way more knowledge then them. makes me laugh.

I try not to let it get to me. I like this forum and check it regularly so I don't want to be known as some d-bag. I'm always open for discussion and I'll be the first to admit that most of the people on here know a lot more about Evos than I do, I'm just using mine for completely different reasons.

Looking forward to the outcome. I myself consider function is greater than form but respect people that do what they do.

I REALLY hate to do this because I feel like I’m defending somebody interested in “stanced” EVOs. You guys should go look at the SSE again. This is exactly what they did to get the car down as low as they did. It's exactly what I had in mind too. It’s not an original idea and has already been done. I think I already documented this idea in my build thread like a year ago too.

Of course though, I also plan on doing billet hub carriers to correct the uber ****ed suspension geometry going this low does. Just like SSE did.

With that in mind, Flame ON people. I can’t stand “stanced Evos.” I'm not even sure how I ended up in this section...

I, for one, anxiously await photos of a snapped frame rail.

Seriously, if you're not going to use any of the performance bits, it'd be a lot cheaper and make a lot more sense to start out with a regular Lancer instead.
