reflash rev 3

I had mine done this past Tuesday and what a difference it made its like a whole new car ,better down low and up-top in regards to acceleration also took away the notchiness from 2nd to 3rd ,all stock also . Dec 2007 build date

Someone should edit this thread and state that there's 3 reflashes and different evo's with diff build dates all have diff reflashes (Also depending on dealer)

Just got my Evo X used about a month ago and am having this problem, guess the previous owner never had reflashed. Looks like ill be calling the dealer this week.

My X GSR build date is March 08; I believe I have the latest reflash (ROM 80020).

If it's not been reflashed, NO.
Other factory reflashes came out in May and October 2008.

All this talk about how this ONLY happens to 08 EVO Xs. I have a 2010 GSR and it hesitates on 4th and 5th gear pulls (up top).

I only have 800 miles on her to date (bone stock).

For us who imported the US cars to Europe:

As we have no chance to get the reflash via dealer, would it be possible to do the reflash via Cobb AP, if someone downloaded the reflashed data from the ROM?

not sure if the dealership is BSing me coz I was told there was a reflash and then when i got there the only thing they did was did a test drive and said no issue then tells me they can't reflash my car coz the computer won't let them since it's not on the list ???

Can anyone Mitsu Tech confirm this? btw I'm in Canada if that matters...

Just purchased my car a few days ago and will be calling the dealership first thing Monday to verify if my car needs the reflash. How easy are these dealerships to work with? (i know it varies). Also, who would i ask to talk to? Customer service, a tech, or?? Thanks!


Edit: When I step on the gas, WOT, the car will pull up to around 6k RPM then pause like it stop making power and feels/makes a "splatt" noise, and then starts pulling to 7k RPM. Is this hesitation or am is this knocking? The car is stock.

I'm so glad I joined this forum!! My 08 GSR is doing the same thing!! I thought this was normal or something! Thank god for the reflash!! 4day weekend coming up and you better believe, this guy is running to Mitsubsihi!!

Just an update. I finally went to Mitsubishi so they could flash my ecu. It was just to get rid of that pesky loss of power after 5k rpm and the low idle at a stand still. Well, I'm happy with the results to say the least! It was free and covered under warranty. I even showed them this thread for good measure!.lol
