Has anyone gotten the factory reflash #3 posted about in this thread?

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...formation.html

It looks like REVIII of the same TSB but I wonder what else they changed? Note that TSB-08-13-006 REVII was identical to TSB-08-13-011.

Finally picked up my new Evo X MR a couple of weeks ago....been in love with the Evolution since the IV & V gen prowled the streets (of Grand Cayman anyway)! Anyway, after reading this thread I called my dealer to find out whether they performed the reflash on my evo already. The guy told me no, they don't do them proactively...only once the customer has an issue with the car will they refer to the TSB's for a solution. My question is, if I'm not having an issue should I just leave it alone or pester them to do it the next time I go in for service?

Pester them for it. I have the REVIII flash and the car now idles much smoother and mileage is slightly (only slightly) better. Also you have less of a chance to get the inevitable CEL that older flashes will throw.

I went to my dealership and just said, "hey I know their is a reflash available...can I get it done please?"

They politely declined. Then told me that if I could tell them I was having a problem, they would be happy to fix it. So, in a nice way they were telling me to simply tell them there is a problem rather than just asking for the flash. I said, "well my car idles erratically." They said, no problem leave us with the keys and we'll take care of it.

So, learn from my situation and simply go in and tell them the idle is erratic. They'll do the reflash to fix it and you'll be all set

No they dont patch the ECU's when you buy it. I am dealing with this issue now, as my car sat on the dealer lot for over a year till I bought it. I have an appt tomorrow morning to get this taken care of.

can anyone tell me exactly which flash i need the dealer to do? is there a certain number referencing the one I will need. my car was bought new 2 days ago but was manufactured in March of 2008, i have noticed below normal gas mileage and an idle needle that seems overly bouncy.

So I went to my dealer today, and told them that my idle was bouncy. Sometimes I would go somewhere them when I got back in the car, I would start it up and it would rev to about 900rpm then die. That happened about 5 times. My X has 3800 miles. I know about the flash, I also know if I was to go in there and ask for the flash they would prob give me a hard time. So I did not say anything to the service guy. When he called me over he said that they re-programed the ECU. So it worked out. I did ask If they put the sticker under the hood that has the date of the flash, tech #, and Part code. He said no because it was not a recall...??? I not sure about that. Did anyone else not get that sticker? Anyway the car def ran smoother, powerband pulled steady and idle was good.

does your idle differ when u have it with and without AC/Fan on? without it mine runs great, with it the idle is still bouncy. they said they did the reflash, i will check for the sticker under the hood later
