You can't write because the ECU does a checksum at the end of session .. and if the rom is changed from base, you cannot start the car ..

Colby is doing the update right now to get that fixed ..

For those who managed to get the 1.42173 beta version, please don't write to the ROM as yet since the write protocol is not fully tested ..

Also 1.42173 doesn't work very well with MRs .. the newer build should fix it ..

the 1.4 version released on the openecu cannot read Mitsubishi CAN cars as yet ..

maybe closer than you think

The only thing I hate about the newer CAN cars is the program mode .. a PITA ..
I bet there's going to be alot of posts sprouting up soon about cars cannot be started after they attempt to flash etc etc ..

Can you expand furthur on why cars will be coming up not being able to start after a flash?

The X uses a different ECU than previous Evos. This new ECU requires a different, more complex protocol to write to the ECU. If there is any sort of glitch during the flash process, its a bit more tricky to recover. The ECU is not easily bricked (no instances yet among the beta testers), but it just takes more work to get things working again when there is a glitch during the flash.

Are any of the beta testers tuning yet? If so has p1235 been encountered and is there a resolution for this yet?

So far, mainly testing of read/write and finding maps. No discussion of tuning yet.

The 1.40 version that is available on the openecu website will not read or write to the evo x. We are still awaiting an official release that will read/write to the evo x.

??? Its open source code. They are doing it for no $$$ gain unto themselves. If you feel it should already be done, then are you continually testing/writing code for this? It is selfish and unfair of you to even expect that you deserve this to be out for free given the work involved.
