One of the first things that the USDM owners might want to try is the JDM Mivec maps. Totally different, JDM is way more aggressive. The timing and fuel maps are different also, JDM has more advanced timing and leaner AFRs but this is probably due to the difference in fuel. I haven't seen the EDM version yet so I don't know what their stock maps look like.

See pics, top is JDM and bottom is USDM

I just went to the Tactrix web site and was going to get the cable ordered. Now I am not sure what to get.

#1 OpenPort 2.0

#2 OpenPort 2.0 with Full Adapter Set

#3 Tactrix 3-Port Boost Control Solenoid

What is the full adapter set for?? It looks like it has a few extra connectors. What are they for?

Also do I need the Boost Control Solenoid? I thought the the EVO X ECU could handle the boost just fine. Am I wrong?

I was planning on getting the DashDaq-ZEITRONIX WB02 to moniter boost, AFR's, EGT.

Thanks for the help!

If you are only going to be tuning EvoXs then just get #1. The adapters in #2 is for older Evos and Subarus. #3 is a boost controller but we don't need this.

I was thinking about the DashDaq too but the problem was it doesn't monitor/show knock. I'm still waiting for a logger that can monitor knock.

Thanks for the info! So how far out is better logging software? They should be able to do something like get the CEL to flash for knock like they did on the VIII and IX.

This is what most do on IX. The JDM RS MIVEC map is popular on the IX.

I saw about 300rpm gain in spool on the dyno using the JDM Evo 10 mivec maps.

Very exciting times for the Evo X now that tuning will be increasing exponentially. I look forward to seeing best practices threads and different techniques used by people to get the most power out of this new platform.

It'd also be nice to be able to reset the flash counter...

Grats to all this is just the begining of seeing real fast DD X's. Nothing like being able to log and make your own adjustments.

A++++ ECUFlash
