Please see the map notes for your particular map in question. It will explain what modifications are ok for that tune.
http://www.accessecu.com/accessport/.../EVOXMaps.html

When running the Econo maps, the turbo is running wastegate spring pressure. No issue there with our without the pill. Even then you are going for economy, no need to stuff your foot in it. If you have stage II modifications there is no reason to run stage I tuning and in fact could be hazardous to you motor to do so.

Thanks,

Running a stock tune with a restrictor pill removed could cause over boosting. That being said running a stock tune with stage II modifications will most likely produce poor results as well.

Stage 2 maps for the EVO X are now available on the Cobb Tuning website.

Stage 2 modification requirements and boost control system changes are explained in the Map Notes and Instructions, respectively.

Thanks,
Rob, Having said this would it be possible to modify the boost system and run a cat-back exhaust with the Stg 2 map? Obviously in lieu of the full TBE. -Thanks

Something to keep in mind, that extra boost may not give you any power. Tuning is about a balance of parameters that gives the motor what it wants to run most efficiently. As you have most likely seen with the over boost or under boost codes, you cannot just up one parameter without playing with others.

Rob do you think i'm fine if i just get the cobb down pipe and cattles pipe with the stock mufflers to run the stage 2?
adding the cobb intake sistem too ofcourse?

People, the Cobb stages are very clearly written:

Stage 1 is an otherwise stock car.

Stage 2 is a TBE exhaust and with wastegate solenoid pill removed.

They have not released maps for other permutations or combinations of pipes, intakes, filters etc . If your car does not fall into any of the Stage categories EXACTLY then you need a custom tune.

Hey Rob?

Could we not just use This -------> http://www.maperformance.com/perrin-performance-boost-control-solenoid-e.b.c.s..html.

I realize its not cobb but wouldn't it work? Forgive me if i am not understanding the "Pill" problem?

Having said that i would like to run 1st scenario and hopefully someone or Rob from COBB will chime in.

1. I am about to reflash my evo but before i do, i would like to download my current map and compare it to a stock one. (i would like to do that because i am not sure if the map i bought the car with is stock) How do i do that?

2. I am also curious weather AccessTUNER Race has a build in logger (i assume it does) and what widebands are compatible with it?

3. is there a manual on how to use the tuning app? ( i know there was one for streettuner)

Thanks

I don't think you are able to access the map that the AP downloads from your car upon installation.

i guess its safe to say we cant modify the stage 2 maps with this software huh, because it wont let me load it.

i want to raise my rev limit and two steps, but seems can only be done on the stage 1 maps. =(
