In light of the fact that the X is a first model year and has 50k miles, it is not surprising these things are happening. Pretty hard to know how the car was treated before. It could have been abused pretty badly. I don't think that this is representative of Mitsubishi reliability. My son has a 2011 GSR with 12k miles and it has been positively trouble free. Any car with 50k miles, especially a performance oriented one like the Evo, carries a risk when you buy one.

Your son's Evo has had 4 years to refine and make changes. Mine was the benchmark, and it's never perfect. I in no way stated that I felt it was unreliable, I was just upset that the part broke and it wasn't even an OEM part, it was an aftermarket part. Trust me, I love my Evo X and don't regret buying it. And your right, it's a used vehicle, and but honestly the only wrong with the car was the cut springs. Everything else was upgraded properly.

And tein springs aren't cheap?

The previous owner had gtwork springs on it and it wasn't low enough for him so he cut them....

The tanabe springs are nice and stiff and work well with the factory strut. My plan is to use this until they blow and get coilovers. Really waiting to see the reviews on the gtwork coilovers, theyre suppose to be awesome.

Taking the car in today so no fun DD driving for me......

I'm pissed cause you'd think buying a 2008 with under 50K mileage would make it less likely that you'd have a more reliable car....and I haven't even tracked the car or done any long trips yet. My 240sx sohc is more reliable at this point haha total BS.

Sorry, I must have misunderstood. That is why I mentioned the first year of production in my post. Your first post indicated that you feel that Mitsubishi is lacking in reliability, hence my comment about the first year as well as 50k miles.

It's no biggie
And it was just the fact that I bought a "new" car and it had already been back to the dealership twice since I bought it and it had only been 2 months.

you have nothing to complain about op. you purchased the car used with 50k miles. how do you know the previous owner took care of the car prior to your ownership? for all you know, your cars been molested, rapped, and beat on by the previous owner plus his friends.

my 08 gsr has 80k miles with no problem. original everything including cmc and clutch.

Yeah, your right, I couldn't afford a brand new one, nor would I want one. I'm very happy, just got upset, and yes I can, it's my right :P

It was and they gave me a replacement....the car wasn't beat up, just a faulty production aftermarket part that was replaced. Everything is fixed, this is an old post.....

.................................................. ........... Yeah i checked it out , it seems that the mechanism that separates the dual discs was binding so with a little lube it works way smoother , it never felt so smooth , lets see how this month goes .
