will the 370z out-perform the Evo X?

I think a 370z vs 135i comparo would be way more interesting.
I'm tired of all this evo is the best car ever when modded stuff, whether it be x, ix, viii, or vi tm.
I'm just wondering how the Z will be able to put down the power when people start modding to 500whp stock block.. That engine's pretty strong

Ultimately, right out the box, you can get more out of the EVO, than a Z, however if the Z is going to be 200+lbs lighter than the out going 350Z, that means that new 370Z will be roughly 3100-3200 lbs for the base model.
That 3.7 liter will likely produce more than infinite's G37, keeping to tradition. So it will probably do better than a new X in straight line performance, but as soon as a turn comes into the skeem of things, the Z will faulter. On the track, the EVO X is incredible.

I am not sure your deductions are correct. The 370z have already been tested to be putting 0.97g on the skidpad and they are running 275 tire width on the back now. I guess we'll see.
On another note for the weight issue, my 350z weighed in at 3100lbs with a half tank of gas. No spare of course. I don't deny the Z's were heavy, but don't wrongfully assume they were that porky. The theoretical weight was overstated. I have seen heavier 2006 models weigh the same as the non revup 350z's.
In short, make the Cobb Tuning orders by this christmas, because the summer will hit the evos like a brick.
I'm still an Evo fan, just not the X. To me the IX is the one for me.

my brother had a 350z....no way it's as fast as and evo....doesn't handle as good either....i've driven both...i dunno what this guy is talkin about....i mean if u count mods then anything can win...i know a guy that has a 300z that has like 750hp or something...runs 9's at the track...then again there's that old evo from florida with 1000hp...lol....i mean if you're comparing cars other than in their stock condition any car can beat another car almost
Also, an HR-powered Z beat an Evo (IX I believe) around VIR.

Anyways, it's already been proven that a 350Z can and has put down better 1/4 times than the Evo X. So yes, it's faster in a straight line.
Have you driven both cars on a track? Then how would you know the handling limits of a Z or an Evo?
Umm on my350z there are 2 times (count them... 2 times) where the Z is in the 13.1X all other times are 13.5 and greater... maybe it was a cold day on a downhill track lol... but a perfectly driven Z will be VERY close in times to a perfectly driven evo on a track... but in a straight line... Z has a lot of up top power ... but the evo gots the acceleration

I have not seen ONE Evo X run as quick as the top cars on that list. Not one. Not even on a short, downhill track on a perfect day.
I can't wait to see these two cars battle it out on a track though... should be very close.
