I just had the pleasure of driving a 370z, and all I have to say is WOW!!!! I'm very impressed with this new Evolution, no pun intended, of the Z. It's lightyears ahead of the 350z. I was able to take it through some conners and on the highway. let me tell you, It handles great and pulls really hard on top end.
The version I drove was the 7 speed Auto with the paddle shifters. I'll be honest with you when I say that these shifters are spot on. The upshifts are instant and on the downshift, the engine will rev match like you'd be driving an F1 and grab the lower gear and off you go. It also sounds great on the downshift especially with that Z signature exhaust sound. I have an Auto 350z with the tiptronic sytle shifter and it sucks compared to this new one. Also the 350z with the tiptronic won't do a burn out, this one has no issues. All you do is turn off the VDC and punch it, and she'll let loose. I can't wait to drive a 6 speed and I'd like to see the SyncroRev Match feature on it. Then I'll have to make up my mind as to which one I like more.
I've test driven the X MR and that is a great transmission and I think the car was pretty fast as well. I think this new Z will out perform the X MR or GSR for that matter but I'd like to see a BMI comparo. I'm a die hard Evo owner, but I don't know about any of you, but all the Mitsu dealers in my area, ATL, are leaving. I just don't want to be without a dealer to service my car.
Now i'm more confused then ever. Keep my IX MR, get a X or 370z. What to do?????

I'm curious to know whether the SyncroRev Match can be turned off and/or disabled. It's one of the few things, on paper, that would stop me from buying the car. I mean, I'd much rather blip the throttle myself, in lieu of an invisible hand - or foot, as the case may be - doing it me. Knowing myself, that feature would **** me off to no end each and every time I drove the car.

i too was afraid it would be an always-on thing but you can disable it very easily.<-- also looking at the 370z.
forget the X! moving on, the 370z is very nice, cant say one bad thing about it, but its just a bit too plain & common (well the 350z was)... and also, u will run into dealer price markups for the next 6 months at least so its just not worth it. so, stick with your IX MR!!

right the AYC might beat it, honestly how many people here actually take a wack at the track? warranty is valuable, atlease to some... well the Z makes 0-60 in 5.1 according to T&R but its nice small and very sporty! and even a bit more gas efficent than the evo, and if the mod bug bites then u could go to GTM and get they VQ37HR twin turbo kit that they have tested on g37 and only need to be converted to the Z!

but yes, very few owners will go to the track, or truly race their vehicle. for most, this is a DD, or even if this is a weekend fun car, still only in the city
