will the 370z out-perform the Evo X?
Well, if you get sport package (which is a must), then the 370 actually ends up being about 75 lbs heavier than a base 350 did, so even though they shaved weight from the chassis, after safety features (much like what happened to the X), it ended up actually gaining weight. Look it up. Almost every magazine comments on this. It looks like a great car, but the hype was a little more than what the car delivers. Still, a definite improvement over the 350.

Than God , a Vid of a car with out some jaska$s talking or gay music playing in the background .
Really? The fastest 0-60 I've seen for a stock X is 4.9 vs. 4.7 for the Z, which would put the Z about two car lengths in front.
Actually, car and driver got as fast as a 4.6 out of a stock GSR. Either way, the Z will outperform it from a roll, which is a more accurate measure of straight line acceleration since people usually race from a roll when on the street. In any case, stock for stock, the Z will most likely beat the X on a fast road course and the X will most likely beat the Z on a tight course. Once modding begins though, the X will take the cake unless you want to spend big money to make the Z competitive.
yes i agree with the lighter and more power part. that is a good thing to have given the trend with the vehicles now a days.
I believe the 4.6 was an '06 IX MR, they got 5.0 with an X GSR. And, like you mention, from a roll - forget it! That 5.0 drops to a 6.6 in a 5-60 rolling start.
The 4.6 on a GSR link lies here:

The 4.9 seconds on a GSR is right here:

And the 5.1 seconds on the Z is here:

Also, the Evo must do better than 6.6 on a street drag (usually 5-60) when a Ralliart does 6.4 from a 5-60 roll
Edit: also from 1 foot rollout, the Z comes alive and hits the 4.9 seconds... again, still Evo's territory.

You really are stubborn... There is a 4.6 and a 4.9 0-60 on the GSR. For the 370z on the other hand, I've only seen a 5.1 ... That's nothing a GSR wouldn't take care of now is it?

I'm also pretty sure these articles were already mentioned earlier in the thread.
And yes, its quite possible to have a 6.6 for a 5-60 for the X. It's heavier, bigger turbo etc... -.-;;
This thread was pretty much already settled a few posts back...
Summary: stock for stock, 370z a little quicker in the straights, on par on most road courses...
Modded, X will most likely blow it away in a dollar for dollar competition

I've seen 4.7 and 4.9 for the 370. I think for Road and Track and motortrend, not sure though.

yeah but notice how the version they used is not the cheapest one which in this case does not compare stock-to-stock with the GSR. They're using Touring with the MatchRev-6-gear-manual tranny whateverthe heck its called. I guess the discussion could end by saying that the base newest Z simply cannot outperform the Evo X... while the top of the line equals it performance-wise..... right? I guess huh
Sure. base model can't compete. But that doesn't make sense for a stock vs stock argument. Stock is stock, no matter what trim. If you're talking more like dollar for dollar, what do you want us to compare it to, the X MR? lol
Otherwise, track model is one of the better sports cars out there that I can think of.
The question was independent of what trim level the Z came in. It could be the "best" 370z model. They're still asking whether that can keep with a X or not.
