it seems mr onwers dont have the problem i have looked at my seats and i cant even find staples on them

I don't feel like sifting through this thread...what is the dealer doing about this? My seats are wrecked.

 

Wow so this is widespread. I've seen the staples on one X so far.

 

Ya I've had some staples come out, just been lazy to take it to Mitsu.

 

I feel like im sitting in a dam teacup when i get in my X....the recaro seats in my VIII were perfect.....plus i dont understand why the X seats have to come up past your head..its nearly touching the roof of the car....lol

 

the come up past your head for head support.

 

the fix is actualy pretty easy for this, definately not worth the down time by taking it to the dealership. just pop off the plastic pieces at the top of the seat (they spread apart) take some gorilla glue and reglue the pieces that are folded and look bad, then pull the fabric real tight and staple it into the foam. its a way easy fix that takes about 10min for both seats. between the new staples and gorilla glue, the fabric stays like it should have from the factory.

I don't think Mitsubishi's target is an older audience, however the recaro's do seem sub-par and so does the recaro baby seat I have for my daughter! All in all, I won't point the finger at Mitsubishi, however I do question recaro's quality control!

Anyone has any issues with chaffing on the leather Recaros then ?? Typically around the side bolster area near the waist and seatbelt area ?? Noticed this on a few almost new cars now .. ???

 

my dealer looked at my seat and they are contacting mitsu and figuring out if they replace the seat or just send it to a repair shop.

 

The MR interior is well made.

 

i just took mine back to the dealer and they replaced the seats
