I 110% agree with you,the staples come loose during movment in the seat such as sliding a little and mitsu will most likely come up with some type of fix because they cant tell us not to move in our seats lol..but i have only lost one staple in the driver sear i felt it pinch my back and was like ouch wtf! and noticed the fabric came out a tiny bit but stuck it back under with my key..ill crazy glue that ***** *** cloth up under that fake carbon lmao! but they will do something 30k+ and the seats fall apart after 150 miles haha

I want to fix my seats myself because taking it to the dealer is such an inconvinience.
Just grab front and back of side, put your thumb in crease (which is on the side) push with thumb and then pull the 2 pieces apart. Not hard, actually they come apart easy. you can add a staple, use hot glue (which peals off unlike superglue), reposition the staple, retuck, etc.Originally Posted by Stellar24
Can you elaborate on how to get the plastic pieces off the seat? Do they just pull apart or are there clips somewhere? What tool did you use to get them apart?I want to fix my seats myself because taking it to the dealer is such an inconvinience.
Guys this is an easy fix. Granted, it should'nt happen, but expecting reembursment, new seats, factory seats, a date with jessica, the winning lotto, is a bit much. Fix it yourself. Really if you cant fix the small things like this, you should'nt mod or add anything to your car but a pine scent tree hanging from your rearview mirror.

If you got the Waranty they have to fix it I would suggest taking oictures and sending it to them (if you have the issue). Even include a copy of this Thread!! They should even have someone come out and make the repairs!!

My dealership just got back to me about mine after a 3 week wait, and they want to keep the car for 2-3 days so they can send it out to be fixed. Considering they void the warranty if you even sneeze in its general direction, I'm not going to let a group of random people have it for a weekend to beat on.
I shouldn't have to, but I guess my only option is to fix it myself.

Log the miles, with a part thats being fixed that doesnt need to be tested by driving the car they do not have the right to drive it more then moving it on the lot,so explain to them that there better not be more then ex. 20 miles more when you pick it upOriginally Posted by gizmotoy

Here is what "should" happen. Or this is at least what my service manager did.
The fabric was coming loose on my driver's seat. I told my service manager. He came out with a camera and took pictures. I guess he submits them to Mitsu for the claim. A week later, he called and said to come in to have the seat replaced. I took it in, and they replaced the back part of the seat.
Easy as pie. Never lost the car for more than a few hours.

My dealer sent me to 2 upholstery shops and each one said that mitsu needs to order new seats, so now I've got to go back next week so a regional rep can look at the seats and decide what to do.

As I write this my car is having its front seat repaired. It looks like yellow stuffing and a staple coming out from under the plastic pieces. I instantly knew there was something wrong because it really stands out. This appeared with only 181 miles on the car.
